Nothing ! my wife and I have 100% Trust and confidence in Thomas ,he alleviates unnecessary concern over our investments . We know if there was to be anything major with the stock market and it's volatility, we can rely on Thomas's experience and knowledge to minimise any problems.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Our pensions needed reviewing and we also needed advice and guidance to help us prepare for our future retirement.

How has Thomas Dalton helped you?

Thomas helped us to understand the options with our current pension arrangements. He also took into consideration our positions as directors and owners of our own company. He liaised with our accountant to gain a good understanding of our financial position and our aspirations for the future. Nothing was rushed, he was incredibly diligent and patient and at all times makes us feel that he has our best interests at heart.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely, we now have someone extremely competent looking after us in an area that we know nothing about and who is willing to act as a sounding board for thoughts we have on future investments.

What could they have done better?

Nothing at all. Thomas is honest and open, he recently explored a thought we had for a Company investment scheme and after a lot of research and time spent on his part, he identified and advised that it wouldn't give us the returns we were hoping for, this was despite the fact that it could have been beneficial to him.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

With the opportunity of voluntary redundancy arising, I needed advice on pensions to see if early retirement was a viable option for me.

How has Thomas Dalton helped you?

Thomas performed a fact finding exercise on my current mixed portfolio of company and private pension schemes. He then reported back and advised on the pros and cons of each scheme, in a clear and understandable language and provided a strategy for each of them. He was also very accessible and helpful and provided effective ways of working together during the current pandemic and kept me briefed on progress at all times.

I am naturally sceptical of financial advisors, how do you know they can be trusted etc.? I was looking for a pensions advisor to reassure me my pensions were doing fine and whether I needed to change anything. When I spoke to Thomas on the phone he was very clear about how he worked, and any potential charges before we met. I had an initial meeting for around 1 hour where we went through my pensions, Thomas explained anything I was unsure about in a clear way that I could understand and the result was a couple of changes which were straight forward that I could do myself, with some advice from Thomas. As he was not going to do any work for me he did not charge anything for this initial meeting. Thomas is a very approachable, friendly person who I have no hesitation in recommending to someone looking for financial advice. I have kept his contact details and if I need a financial advisor in the future he is the one I will go to.

I felt that my previous financial adviser was not being pro-active enough in providing advice and as I am moving closer to retirement I realised that I needed to take control of the situation. Whilst Thomas was already advising me on a small part of my portfolio, he started by getting my husband's pension affairs in order and I was pleased with what I saw and decided to seek the same advice with regard to my pension situation.

Have had an advisor at Nationwide for many years that is where we initially made acquaintances with Thomas.

How has Thomas Dalton helped you?

After he left his last employment we arranged to meet and he was able to expose us to financial investments that Nationwide couldn't . He was able to guide us through much broader and more appropriate investments for our personal circumstances!

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Certainly with any investments you are going to experience market volatility, however Thomas has guided and advised us on products less exposed to volatility in other words we are cautious investors.

What could they have done better?

As regards Thomas absolutely nothing ,he communicates regularly by email any worries he may have or volatilities in the market despite him having carte blanche over our investments. We also have home visits from Thomas where he goes through our investment portfolio explaining various and current issues ,especially with the political unrest and Brexit. He has given assurances that our exposure to market volatility is at a minimum.
