What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was looking for retirement planning advise. Following some research I settled on David and his firm as they came highly recommended by a number of my colleagues.

How has David Wilson helped you?

David has given me the peace of mind to take the step into retirement. I feel confident with his advice that I will have a long and enjoyable retirement!

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely! I have been able to put working behind me and am now enjoying the fruits of that labour.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Our existing Financial Advisor sold his business portfolio to a larger company. However we wanted to retain a level of control on who our finance advisor would be and we wanted a personal relationship with someone, rather than with a large firm we hadn't chosen ourselves. So I spoke to close friends about their experiences and one of them recommended David personally.

How has David Wilson helped you?

David responded very quickly when we got in touch. He came to our house and spent a few hours getting to know us both on a personal and financial basis. He then assessed the profile of pension investment tailored to our individual circumstances and our individual appetite for risk. He arranged for our pensions to be transferred as quickly and efficiently as possible, which was not that straightforward as we had existing fixed term cash investments. In addition to the pension transfer, David has also helped us project our cashflow for the next 25 years given our expected expenditure over time and expected income from investments using a very detailed piece of software. This has highlighted our likely IHT bill in the future and enables us to make informed decisions about how to manage that in the most tax efficient way. We will sit down in the near future and discuss detailed ways of mitigating IHT over the period. Having a plan for both our pensions and our financial planning in future is immensely important to us, and we really feel that David asked all the right questions in order to get to know us and come up with the right guidance. David's strength is his wide knowledge of investing and his ability to communicate complex financial terms into plain language for anyone to understand. He also has some seriously good software at his disposal which lays everything out for you. Most importantly, he listens carefully to the detail of what you are telling him and speaks plainly about the risks and returns in a way that makes it really clear. Since moving to the new pension platform, the communication from David and his team has been timely, clear and thorough and everything has happened as expected.

Absolutely, we both feel that we are in very competent hands and confident that we are receiving the best advice given our individual circumstances. We are still in an early period of new pension investment and platform, but all looks very good so far.

I cant think of anything that i would highlight at this point in the relationship.
