My mum needed some good quality advice regarding my late fathers estate so we got in touch with Lisa and we’re glad we did. We found Lisa’s advice to be first class. Her recommendations were easy to understand, clear and concise. She listened to my mum’s priorities and gave sound advice to meet her needs. Not only that we found Lisa to be very approachable and friendly which made the process so much easier.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Bereavement and long term illness , coupled with a transfer from a previous adviser. As I am over 55 with very little , I needed to get an idea of what I had and how I can keep what I have given my health status

How has Lisa Vaughan helped you?

Lisa is just the most down to earth person , she is real grass roots and fully understood the needs of people like me . She reassured as to the quality of decisions I had already made ,but she was mindful of how my current health status has affected me financially. She tells it like it is and uses plain English but never ever patronises me. I will be looking to seek her advice on a new matter in the very near future . She shows genuine personal interest in her clients.

At the moment , yes . I have found a new way of reviewing my spending as I am on sick leave ,so am using savings as top up. Covid 19 has affected my core investment so i have to accept falling value. Lisa explained this really well, so I am not freaking out.

What could they have done better?

nothing really - she does her job, and she gives real practical knowledgeable advice . There is not much to do at the moment as I am still in recovery, but I intend to see her again this year.

Due to the Covid pandemic it became apparent that circumstances can change overnight therefore a review of my investments pensions and estate was deem necessary.

Now that my husband and I are in a financial position which means we have no debt (except for a mortgage) and healthy savings, we wanted to find ways to make our money work harder for us. In addition, we wanted to learn more about how to make the most of our pension contributions.

I never really take enough interest in my financials and due to COVID-19 it was something that I needed to understand better and see if any improvements could be made. Lisa was excellent in advising the good and bad and also gave good guidance of what to do going forward, I also needed someone to look at my Pensions as I had various different ones and very little understanding of any of them.

Sale of property released equity which we wanted to invest for growth and generate small amount of income for holidays etc.

I was looking to transfer a final salary pension into a SIPP in order to access funds for my retirement

Having tried the previous year with various "one man band" adviser's I wasted a lot of time and got advice which was in the interest of the adviser rather that myself. There's a 12 week time limit for the process and due to time waster's and "sharks" by the time I contacted Lisa she advised that the time scale for her to complete the process was to short. I decided to wait a year rather than pay the pension company for another valuation

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

When I got this years valuation I immediately contacted Lisa she came to see me within 2 days . She conducted an initial assessment in a friendly , understandable manner. She explained the process and timescales and advised that the likely outcome would be successful. However she promised the after a further investigation and gathering of fact if she feel there was a problem she would advise me of the fact and make no charge if I decided not to go ahead.No other adviser gave this undertaking . I was kept up to date with progress without having to ask or chase her for it. The pension transfer has now been complete to my total satisfaction

What could they have done better?

I very much doubt it based on my experience the year before. Lisa is part of a company Fogwill and Jones and has an admin team who provided ongoing support and information to me. As well as Lisa's skills and professionalism the back up of an organisation I found very reassuring and helpful. Lisa and her team are an island of integrity and professionalism in and sea of sharks !

Advice needed on transfer of funds from a pension scheme that was closing; we had a requirement to reinvest savings held in a number of low-interest accounts into one more productive portfolio; advice also needed on personal pension plans and income options following retirement.

The only issue I have had is with regard to the website used by the investment service which has not always been easy to access, but Lisa's company have always been on hand to sort any teething trouble out quickly and this has improved now to almost 100% service.

9 years ago I spoke to a different adviser. It is over the last 2/3 years I have been involved with Lisa. I discussed with her some issues that had arisen and how I was considering investing in the short term. At the time she advised against this. She also gave me a great recommendation for a mortgage adviser I saw her again recently to discuss investing my new ISA allowance. She helped with this and sorted everything out. Lisa also talked to me about setting up Power of Attorney.

Lisa checked again on my level of risk and all the paperwork was sorted quickly.

I recently turned 55 years of age and needed help with many question with my pension policies I have. I wanted to draw 25% of my Pension tax free but had a lot of questions com earning what to do with the remainder (there are so many choices).

How has Lisa Vaughan helped you?

Lisa talked me through the policies I had and what my plans in life were. She told me what questions I should be asking my Pension providers and the choices I will have to make. Finally she helped me filling in a form to begin the procedures to release some of my savings as a tax free income. I understood a lot of the issues after she explained things.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I certainly have more decisions to be made (as a have a few different pension policies) but I sorted out what to do with one, and I am acquiring the information to to make a decision on the others. I was very happy with the step by step approach Lisa took and she answered all my questions. I now know where I am heading but I will certainly want Lisa to go over any of my future decisions on my other policies just to make sure I have understood everything. It is peace of mind.

What could they have done better?

To be honest, I think there is little Lisa could have done to help me more at this stage. When I have all the information on my other policies I will be back for a chat again!

Dissatisfaction with my former adviser.

Lisa clearly and patiently explained our options and put in a lot of work to set up discretionary management of our finances. Communication is good and she's always available to answer any questions.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

So far the returns have been very good, considering the current financial situation.

What could they have done better?

I can't imagine how Lisa herself could do any better. The layout of the regular financial summaries is confusing, but it doesn't seem to be possible to change the software.

Due to a change in circumstances I needed some Protection Insurance and I wanted to be clear on what was the most appropriate cover for me.

She was very easy to talk to and had a lot of financial services experience. This was a free session to cover inheritance planning but she spent time going over all the points and different aspects I needed to consider to avoid paying inheritance tax. She was very knowledgeable and told me about future planned changes in the level in which inheritance tax applies.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Lisa was referred to me by a close friend as I had received offers from two defined benefit schemes but as I do not have a wife, nor dependants and health issues and I had heard about enhanced annuities, I thought Lisa might be able to find a better deal for me.

How has Lisa Vaughan helped you?

Lisa searched the market place and ended up getting me an extra £10,000 tax free cash sum, a slightly higher annual annuity but did build in a 5% annual increase (which is more than I would have got from the two Defined benefit schemes). Lisa also explained things in plain english as I really don't understand complex pensions but she made me feel comfortable with the information she supplied.

Yes I received a lot more money, even taking into account Lisas fees which I thought were well earned.

What could they have done better?

I dont think Lisa could have done anything better

Close to retirement, I had several pension pots of various types and sizes and needed to understand my situation. How much I had in total, could I live on it, what should I do with it to simplify and ease my understanding.

Lisa explained what I wanted to know in a way I could understand, and answered my questions when I asked them, not when it suited her to answer them. I came away from my first meeting with Lisa feeling a lot more content than when I walked in. Result.

Retirement what to do with various pensions and with continuing to work after retirement age which was the best way to go with my pensions etc.

My husband and I spoke with Lisa concerning our pensions and SIP. Lisa was very thorough asking questions including our previous and present employment, what we wanted from our retirement fund and when we wanted to retire and our attitude to risk. Lisa also reviewed our other assets highlighting we need to also look at inheritance tax, trusts, wills and powers of attorney. Lisa and her team undertook a thorough review. At our subsequent meeting Lisa presented her report which provided information and comparisons of our investment and fee levels.
