What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

The change in rules that gave people the option to transfer pensions at the age of 55. I had spoken to colleagues , in a similar position to myself and decided to seek professional advice . Colin was highly recommended to me.

How has Colin Hart helped you?

Colin gave me and my wife the advice and guidence we requested. He explained the pros and cons involved in me transferring my works pension out . We found him very personable and easy to talk to and he explained everything clearly , simply and transparently. Ultimately it was my decision , based on Colin's guidence , to tranfer my pension and it proved to be the right decision.

The outcome has been very pleasing , given that there are no guarantees or promises made and also considering the events that have since occured globally.

I became aware that other options had become available with my company pension and was looking to explore if any of these would be a viable route for me to take. There are many warnings to beware of pension scams and poor advice so I looked around for a top rate Financial Adviser who came well recommended and recognized by the major financial institutions.

Mr. Hart from Hamptons has been the perfect choice, from the very first meeting with Colin, he took the time with me to build a complete picture of my financial position, attitude to risk, life plans and where I wanted to be in the short, medium and long term. I was looking to transfer out of my company DB scheme both to due to changes in the scheme and also to allow more flexibility in my choices of when to retire. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I am 62 years old, and decided to move my existing Pension, so I could use the tax free lump sum to help settle my Mortgage, and to re-invest the rest into a SIPP for my retirement Unfortunately I had no idea how to go about this. In common with many people I had not done any planning or had a real understanding of how to manage my Pension & Retirement , so as I approached 60 I decided I needed to address this by getting professional advice.

I am looking to retire in the next 6-12 months and my wife and I have several pension plans. We were looking for advice as to whether we should transfer some or all of them onto one platform or leave the pensions with our current providers.

We had 3 meetings with Colin for an agreed one off fee. Each meeting lasted over 2 hours and Colin explained every step in great detail and vitally also completed a questionaire to ascertain our attitude to risk.

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding and fully understand your concern but, as discussed in our communications, the body of our email summarising our initial meeting and circumstances gives no reference to your personal details, there is no mention of your surname, address, postcode or account number, therefore very little could be actioned should your email have been read by a third party. It is standard practice to summarise our meeting by email and to expand on the discussion points and objectives. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My previous adviser took early retirement and my husband and I already had some experience of investing over the years. We needed to find somebody quickly to continue providing us with the levels of advice and service we were accustomed to having established a modest portfolio incorporating a family inheritance.

How has Colin Hart helped you?

Colin was recommended to us by our previous adviser and his take over of our servicing and needs felt quite seamless. He was and still is very candid about his opinions and advice which is very refreshing. As a young person having recently stepped onto the employment ladder, I was keen to save for the future as I understood that there were advantages in starting to invest at a youthful age. A colleague who was a client of Colin's recommended him and placed us in contact with one another.

Coming up to retirement age on December 30th 2016 and becoming more and more disillusioned with the advice offered by banks and building societies my wife and I asked my sister-in-law to let us have the name of her adviser because she was particularly impressed with the way he explained every question she asked simply but in detail and his name was Colin Hart .

Colin very clearly outlined the options and clarified the financial position with the three pension funds I held. We discussed the options available and agreed what tax free sum was available, the annual draw down figure and where the balance of the fund would be invested.

Definitely - having taken some of the tax free allowance and a modest draw down for the current tax year we agreed the balance should be held as cash until the Greek situation was clarified. I have just asked Colin to invest 50% of the cash in our agreed funds since the eurozone has stabilised following the fall of the word market due to the Chinese position.

Delays in the early transactions were caused by the huge demand on pension companies due to the change in regulations; Colin and his team were exemplary in their chasing and updating me with information although often having to advise of further delays.

Colin Hart has been mine and my wife's Financial Adviser for 17 years now and during that time his advice has proven to be trustworthy , positive and successful . One of things I appreciate is that I like to spread my Portfolio both in terms of type of fund but also geographically and Colin has ben good at pointing me in the right direction. Although he clearly has clients with bigger portfolios than mine you never feel that he is ignoring you or skimping on the time he spends when carrying out reviews of my investments. My wife and pay an annual visit to Colin's office although he is very happy to, and has, visited us at our home a few times. During these meetings he covers, in great detail, information on all aspects of the performance of our pension and savings funds. I first visited Colin in 2009, to discuss the possibility of consolidating various pension funds that I then held, into just one manageable fund, I found him to be very welcoming and attentive to my needs, he explained in detail what all of my options were, and guided me clearly and concisely through the process, which otherwise would have been very complex to have understood. After several meetings with Colin a plan of action was put into place, and my funds were subsequently re-invested with a new company, and as they say "the rest is history", my only regret is that I didn't find Colin years sooner, because my pension fund has performed way beyond my expectations and is still growing at an extremely excellent rate, even in the current economic climate, needless to say I am more than happy.
