I have been a client of Dan’s for well over 20 years now. Through this time I have gone through various life stages and most recently he has helped me plan for my retirement which I am now very much enjoying!

In many ways over many years, but now that I’m retired Dan has been invaluable in helping me to understand how much I can safely afford to spend, and how big a lifestyle I can enjoy, without fear of running out of money one day. Regularly updating the cashflow forecast software that Dan uses really helps bring my plans to life and allows me to visualise things in a way I never could before. I also have a far better understanding of investing now, and no longer panic when markets fall! Dan’s ability to explain things in a way that makes the complex simple is one of his main strengths.

I had worked hard to earn money but didn't really know much about what to do next. How and where to invest was a grey area for me so i needed expert help.

How has Daniel Jones helped you?

Daniel spent time with me and my husband to work through our financial portfolio. This included detailing our incomings and outgoings in order to work out if we should invest & appropriate amounts. Daniel then spent time working out our individual risk levels so that the investments would best reflect the risk that we were willing to take. After talking in depth about the recommended investments including pros and cons, he did most of the paper work to minimise our work load. Initially I was just looking for help with life insurance and potential retirement planning and we met Daniel Jones via a recommendation from an acquaintance who had used Dan's services.

How has Daniel Jones helped you?

To start with Daniel gave great advice on transfering my then paltry pension plan to a much better provider and then worked with me to create a sustainable retirement plan. Subsequently Daniel has helped with savings and investments, mortgages (twice) and protecting our children from some of the vagaries of the inheritance tax laws. We have met with Dan personally at least once a year for the last 15 years and have always found him to be extremely personable, positive, friendly, easy to talk with about sometimes complex issues and always up to speed with any regulatory or investment changes.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was about to retire with a public sector pension but had also built up a small private pension pot and savings vehicles (bonds, ISAs etc.) I needed advice on whether my pension arrangements could be improved and on bringing together my additional savings

Initially, I had a number of pensions with different companies and was looking for someone to amalgamate them for me.

Daniel sorted my pensions and investments so that they all came under one umbrella making it easier for me to understand and track my investments. The yearly meetings are extremely useful and he always takes time to explain what has happened across the previous year and I know that I can contact him at any time throughout the year should I wish to do so.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

20 years ago I had the shock of redundancy at the age of 54 from a “safe job for life” I had a generous pension that was based on final salary. My previous employer were aggressively pushing I take what seemed at the time a generous pot in place of the final salary pension
