I wanted an independent opinion on my cashflow planning for retirement (being a single woman in my early 50s), thoughts re risk and allocation of current pensions. I had spoken to a number of other consultants that were more focused on the wealth management rather than the modelling i needed. Some were also very expensive.

Paul helped to confirm to me that even with the current situation, i am nearly on track for what i would like to do around phased retirement. He was very thorough and generous with his time (as well being personable and down to earth). He made the time to really understand what i was looking to do as my situation involved being a carer, having no dependents and decisions around my house having been self employed for a number of years. He also stress tested my plans and we explored a few scenarios that helped build further confidence in my planning.

Being recently retired I wanted to better understand the options available to me regarding pension investments and future income. The tax implications of the various options were an integral part of this.

How has Paul Sweeny helped you?

Following an in-depth 2-hour meeting with my wife and I, Paul developed a financial plan based on our current circumstances and plans for the future. This was a comprehensive plan covering pensions, savings, investments and tax advice. Since agreeing the plan, Paul has undertaken all the legwork to transfer pensions, switch an ISA and given us a secure, on-line platform where we can monitor progress.

How has Paul Sweeny helped you?

Paul clearly and professionally explained everything related to pensions and the available options. He was incredibly informative and helped me to understand how pensions worked and the variety of routes than can be taken - this was something I knew very little about prior to us meeting, so I was very impressed with his range of knowledge.
