I wanted advice about my pension as i had 55 years old and wanted advice on what to do

How has David Jones helped you?

David came to see us and discussed our options with us and advised on what we could do regarding taking a percentage of my pension and also advice about our mortagage and other matters too. David helped us enormously and we would recommend him to anyone, he explains thoroughly in detail regarding anything that you need to know and what can be done.

Yes definitely we have turned a corner and we are now much more financially secure after Davids help & advice.

Wanted advice on the best thing to do with savings,pensions and investments as we are approaching retirement.

David went all through our finances and put together what he thought would be the best package for our retirement,then he talked us through it and took the time to explain everything in full as it can be very confusing.

David couldn't really do anything any better, he is very professional,and takes the time to make sure you fully understand everything and doesn't apply any pressure to rush any decisions.

Looked for pension advice and management.

How has David Jones helped you?

Reviewed our long term financial position and goals. Then made sure our pensions were performing well while lowering the ‘charges’ we pay. David takes the time to know us and understand what’s important to us.

Yes - we now have a long term plan. It was very reassuring to know we will be comfortable in our retirement.

We are happy with the service we receive. Everything is very open and clear and followed up in a timely and accurate way. The back up team at Parkgate are very helpful and efficient.

Following an annual review of my existing pension I was a bit concerned with my financial retirement fund.

How has David Jones helped you?

David reviewed my existing pension fund and now we have a ten year plan in place to a happy retirement. Existing savings were also reviewed and these have been put to work to earn a better return.

Forecast is promising but we are just getting started

Have been clients of Parkgate fs since 2016. For the first few years we experienced a degree of frustration around poor return of our investments, lack of clarity around who was managing our portfolio and delays in communication. David took over responsibility for our investments early 2020. We have found him to be easily approachable and available, prompt to respond to any queries with clear, understandable explanations.

Like everyone, investments suffered in 2020 due to the impact of the global pandemic. However recovery appears to have been quick and effective which we would put down to David's day to day management

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

It was a number of years ago when I started to look at my pension lump sum and the various investment benefits I had from the company that I worked for. Over the years various advisers have helped me in this regard. David has taken over my affairs following his appointment to Parkgate

David has provided advice in simple, understandable terms on how best to take advantage of investment opportunities as well as looking to explore releasing equity to enable me to gradually step down from full time employment to full retirement. He has given me confidence in realising this ambition.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, despite the uncertainty in the market during the COVID pandemic, David's advice has been sound and we have had some good returns on our investments and has further explained how we can reduce the costs by using different a investment company.

What could they have done better?

Given the circumstances we have had with the COVID pandemic, I am not sure what any other advisor could have done differently. David's advice and recommendations have been beneficial to us.

I was left my husbands pension and was recommended by his accountant to look for a financial adviser to help me with investments.

How has David Jones helped you?

If it hadn’t been for David Jones’s help in sourcing this pension on my behalf from the company that my late husband worked for, I wouldn’t have been in the position to save this money. I was told I couldn’t have it in a lump sum only monthly but he persevered for months and eventually won. He then advised me what was the best for investments for my situation.

So far, so good but it’s a 10 year investment.

Not a thing, he done more than I could ask for to be honest.
