What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was made redundant from a job I’d held for many years, causing me to evaluate my finances, as I wasn’t sure if I’d work again at 62. I had never previously seen an IFA and had this not happened I probably would not have done so.

How has Al Spall helped you?

Al looked at all my savings and pensions. As I had 7 separate pensions, I was advised to consolidate them into 1 and look at a platform for these to get a better return.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

After a year I have seen a decent return within my ‘average’ risk circumstances. I could have made more money by taking a bigger risk but Al was very clear in explaining everything to me. I am currently happy with where I am.

What could they have done better?

Nothing really. Al has been very patient with me explaining everything to me, often several times.

Al was very friendly, approachable and took the time to understand what I wanted to achieve for my future. He reviewed my circumstances, came back with a clear plan, and helped arrange transfers relating to one of my poorly performing pensions. Overall, I found him very good to deal with and would happily recommend him.

We now hold a diverse portfolio of investments which have seen growth within the first year.
