I have used Chris for all 3 of my house moves following a recommendation from a friend and find him to be brilliant. Always available, explains things in a clear manner, will step in if any issues arise (for example, during my second move my mortgage was ported but due to an admin error at the lenders end, they presumed I had two separate mortgage accounts - Chris helped to resolve this very soon after the lender started threatening legal actions). Chris has provided sound financial advice to help me plan and complete my purchases and has always helped find good mortgage rates in the market. I know this to be true as when we were looking at new build properties one of the developers insisted we use their mortgage advisor and the interest rates they could obtain were more than what we being offered by Bigmore's.

My mum was in a rented flat that was being sold - she is 78 and retired so it was a bit of a challenge.

How has Chris Layzell helped you?

Initially he found us a mortgage but that wasn't granted so he found an equity release scheme which means she can stay in the flat she moved to after my father died, which has taken a lot of stress off her and me and means she has security of tenure and providing she pays interest on the loan it won't eat too much into her equity.

Absolutely - in fact she got an offer for more than she initially thought which meant that she could extend the lease and increase the value of the property by £70,000, without eating into her savings!

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Chris even did a home visit for my mother as she has MS and is largely housebound.
