What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My financial adviser was retiring. He was a trusted adviser who gave me excellent advise over the years with regard to my pension investments, He introduced me to Simon as I felt I needed the services of a new adviser. Simon was not the first adviser I had spoken to but I felt his manner,knowledge and professional attitude suited me.

How has Simon Bonnett helped you?

Simon visited me at my home and and spoke to me about my goals and requirements with regard to my future retirement. He appeared to understand my needs. He informed me of various options available and explained things in a way which was easy to understand. He was a great help with managing my investments.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I felt very clear on the direction I wanted to take. Simons recommendations were very much in line with my own thoughts. It is early days yet but I feel things are proceeding as I would like. I am happy with the plan and my pension arrangements. Simon has been instrumental in putting things together.

What could they have done better?

I'm not sure Simon could have done better than he already has. He has a very good approach and seems to understand my requirements. He is able to explain and make clear points of importance which is very reassuring.

Quality personal service, took time to listen to my needs, understand my financial circumstances, prompt with relevant questions and respond within a realistic timescale.

Just starting on the journey but content with the progress made to date.

What could they have done better?

Initial impressions are important and i have been impressed by the attention to detail, getting up to speed with my circumstances and needs. it is important that the advice remains current and that you are treated as an individual not a set of numbers. So far so good (past performance is no indicator of future returns as they say)

Simon is very accessible, both in person and in email communication, responding to questions and meeting requests promptly. He translates financial information and plans into language that I can understand and I feel I can ask any question -- however "stupid". I feel he has accurately assessed and understood our needs and preferences in terms of financial planning and investments. I have full confidence in him to give us independent and sound advice.

Simon is an excellent listener. He inquires to ensure understanding. He is meticulous in his reporting. He follows through on exactly what he says he will do. He is a person of integrity. He understands the industry. He is courteous and supportive. He responds rapidly to inquiries. He inspires confidence.

What could they have done better?

He could be a little better at explaining the complexities of the financial arrangements in extremely simple language. He already does this better than most, but he is not yet completely jargon-free! Of course, he needs to at least refer to the industry terminology, but he could improve on his "translation" skills just a bit -- at least for people like me who self-rate as "poor" in financial expertise! Apart from this, the man is a dream!
