I had five different company/personal pensions and wanted to bring them all together to try and maximise benefits

Obviously I would be thankful for a greater return in my investment, but I feel Dorothy has an excellent understanding of the financial market & advises in line with my specific level of risk

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Dorothy had previously helped me about 10 years ago. Her advice had served me well and her way of working suited me, and so when I wanted a review I went back to her.

How has Dorothy Maxwell helped you?

Dorothy spent a of of time with me helping me look at my retirement plans and finances. She pointed out things I hadn't thought of and gave me time to consider her suggestions. I wanted to make sure my small private pension sum was invested to it's best advantage and check what other pension pots might realise. I also wanted to maximise returns on savings. Dorothy also made suggestions for Critical Illness /mortgage protection.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes I like the plan we've come up with. I think I've achieved what I wanted and more.

What could they have done better?

Required advice regards arranging a mortgage and help understanding my pensions.

Dorothy was very helpful. Found me the best possible deal for a mortgage. Also explained to me very patiently my pension situation.

I needed expert advise with my Pension Plan, and how to get the best results with the amount I could contribute.

How has Dorothy Maxwell helped you?

Dorothy, looked at what I had, looked also at my lifestyle and what my retirement goal was. She was very honest and clear about what action was needed.

Yes I feel much more secure that Dorothy has given a lot of time to making my pension plan work for me. I feel Dorothy gives more than 100% and breaks down all the jargon into English, making things much easier to understand.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I am currently in the midst of a divorce and needed advice re pension transfer/sharing.

How has Dorothy Maxwell helped you?

I had very little knowledge on types of pensions, Dorothy explained the different types of pension which formed a large percentage of our marital assets and advised me about the need for Pension Reports in divorce proceedings and how these were produced for court purposes by Pension Actuaries.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

My divorce proceedings are still ongoing but because of Dorothy’s advice, I was able to argue the need for a Pension Report with our mediator, and this document has now been produced for court proceedings. Dorothy has agreed to work on my behalf once I receive my share of pension funds and will help me to reinvest into a new pension fund in my own right.

What could they have done better?

Dorothy has been so helpful at this extremely difficult time of my life. She always explains things in layman’s terms so I fully understand any implications. There is never any pressure to make decisions, she is very trustworthy and has been transparent throughout our dealings.
