I have a much better understanding of current spend and future spend and how this will change as I get older. Matthew introduced the concept of "lifestyle planning" what's coming in, what's going out and how much will I need in the various stages of retirement. I wish I had been introduced to him earlier.

We wanted to explore if we were able to retire earlier than the State Pension Age. We did a search for recommended independent financial advisers in our local area and to us Matthew stood out and the good reviews. We were not disappointed. He is a good honest, steady, knowledgeable man and we warmed to him straightaway. He is not a flashy person with false promises.

How has Matthew Walne helped you?

Matthew was brilliant. He spent the time to get to know us, what we wanted, why we wanted it and our current circumstances to assess whether our dream was possible. He collated all the relevant information and presented his findings to us. We were amazed to find that we could indeed retire earlier and were also given different scenarios to either increase or decrease our retirement age.

Matthew has looked after us know for a couple of years and things are going to plan so far. Obviously the market uncertainty during 2020 was a worry, but Matthew was a reassuring presence. Matthew encourages a yearly keep on track meeting which we last had in around October/November time (virtually this year). He is keen to understand your present situation and updates your financial situation and makes sure you are on track to meet your goal.

There is nothing yet that we can think of that he could have done better. He is very knowledgeable and continues to strive to acquire up to date knowledge.
