Clear, trustworthy. His key advice was whether I wanted to do the 'paperwork' myself or ask them to do all the 'paperwork'. Fortunately (at least for me), his advice was sufficiently good I felt confident that I could complete all the required paperwork myself. Thanks

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having recently retired I need financial advice.

How has Jonathan Stokes helped you?

He reviewed my pensions options and subsequently provided a detailed analysis of my options He also gave me guidance on which options most suited my needs Jonathan then acted on my behalf to put my selected options in place by contacting my pension providers and assisted me in completion of the various documents to draw down my pensions.

I was retiring and looking for ways to use my pension to the best advantage.

My age and the need to feel more secure in the future.

Jonathan was excellent in helping me plan for my future, explaining all the options, most of all I felt at ease he had a real sense of what I wanted to achieve and explained the reasons fully and clarified when I was unsure.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes definitely, I feel quite relieved that I now have a plan in place and on going support which is a comfort for planning for the future.

What could they have done better?

I honestly cant think of anything he could have done better, I always like to give clear and constructive feedback, but I am more than happy with the service I have received and going forward.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Until a few years ago I had never had enough spare money to need financial advice so beyond being careful in my spending I had not learned much about investments. My decision to ask Jonathan for advice was based upon my feeling after quite a long meeting that I would be able to trust him.

How has Jonathan Stokes helped you?

He has advised me on a number of different investments and saving plans. He also advised me on the best way to release funds from previous savings when it became necessary to buy the house that I was renting at the time. I am sure that I would have made mistakes if I had tried to do it on my own.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I was hoping to be able to find a financial adviser that I could trust - that hope has certainly been met. I was also hoping that my various investments might yield some interest - that also has been met in a period of troubled financial markets.

What could they have done better?

Some of the documents Jonathan shows me have very small fonts that are difficult to read.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advice on structuring my investments and making sure they were appropriately invested for my risk profile. Previous adviser had not maintained contact or been interested once he had taken a commission.

How has Jonathan Stokes helped you?

Jonathan made a thorough assessment of my financial goals and attitude to risk. He re-balanced my portfolio of investments to better reflect my risk profile and changed the strategic investment approach to take full advantage of tax efficient savings. Poorly performing investments were identified and recommendations made. All my investments are now visible online and I can monitor these myself. He is always available for advice by phone, e-mail or personal visit. His fee structure is clear and fair. He has worked for me on a fixed fee basis which I much prefer as it is clear how much I am paying for advice and it is easier to compare rates.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Despite considerable financial turbulence since the financial crash of 2008 and more recent market volatility over Brexit and the Trump presidential victory, I have had an increase in the value of a diversified portfolio of stocks shares and cash investments. The advice I have received on investment products has been good in a difficult climate. Importantly I have a very approachable IFA who monitors my investments with respect to my financial aims and communicates promptly and clearly if and when changes are needed. I feel much more confident that my finances are under my control and I have good up to date advice from someone I can trust.

What could they have done better?

It is difficult to find fault with Jonathan. He is far and away better than the two previous IFA's I have had.

Impending retirement.

Jonathan collated the information from all my various pensions and advised me on the best way to combine these. His information was clear and concise, as were his explanations of how the pension consolidation would work. Made it easier to understand and for me to monitor going forward. It was important for me to be able to understand how my investments were performing and how they could provide me with my income in retirement.

Yes, all my investments appear to be sound and are performing exceptionally well to date.

What could they have done better?

It's difficult for me to say, as Jonathan was extremely patient and explained painstakingly how pensions work. Would say that, as a novice, I would find it difficult to say anything that could have been done better.

I wanted answers from my personal pension provider (Prudential) but they would not talk to me they said I had to go through a Financial Advisor. The company that Jonathan was involved with at the time contacted our Office just out of the blue so I arranged to see him.

Jonathan reviewed all my financial arrangements and advised me on an Investment that I did not realise was a capped product. His advice was spot on. He also helped me to consolidate and re-arrange my savings and helped me to set up a personal pension with a better return. He also set up our Company Auto Enrolement Pension Scheme.
