What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have sought financial advice over the years, but it has never been particularly good and the IFA have lacked expertise or lost interest when it became clear I didn’t have hundreds of thousand of pounds to invest. I was conscious that my pensions were all over the place, that I needed ongoing pension advice and general financial long term planning advice.

How has Robert Jordan helped you?

Rob looked at my situation holistically and actually listened to what I was saying . Unlike a lot of IFAd who seem to have an agenda. Once I’d explained my circumstances he set out a plan for the short, medium and long term - and ensured that it was tailored to my specific circumstances - eg, my risk appetite was properly assessed, as was my personal and professional situation.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, absolutely. We have a plan in place and have just started implementing it. Rob sees the importance of building long term professional relationships with his clients, rather than one hit wonders - and that is key for me.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advice on accessing my pension.

How has Robert Jordan helped you?

He advised me of my options, recommended a draw down option and then helped me implement it. I was impressed by his clear explanations and his correct assessment of my attitude to risk (low/medium). There was no pressure to include my other savings in 'the deal'.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. I am getting payments from my pension and the process was relatively simple which is what I wanted.

What could they have done better?

My only complaint so far is that a couple of times I had to email Robert saying 'remember you were going to ...' - the response this was always immediate and apologetic and had a satisfactory outcome.

I became a self employed contractor and wanted to set up a private pension

Robert took me through the options of the various pensions available and helped me choose the right one for my circumstances.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

As it's a long term investment, the final outcome is still yet to be determined for my available pension, but I fully expect the long term results to hit the values I am expecting.

What could they have done better?

At this moment, I don't think Robert could have done anything better. I got the advice I needed and what I hope to be the best pension I need. When we do the yearly pension review we can discuss it's current performance and then if necessary change things then.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Rob Jordan has been my financial advisor since May 2013. I was looking to better invest some ISAs that had matured.

How has Robert Jordan helped you?

He very carefully and patiently guided me into making an excellent choice for investing my money wisely. He understood I was a cautious investor and took great pains to ensure I understood what was happening.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I have been really pleased with the success of my investments via Rob’s expert advice, so much so my daughter and my husband have since also employed his services. Yes I have seen the outcome I was looking for and more.

What could they have done better?

I don't think Rob could have done anything better. We are all impressed with Rob’s skills as an advisor who researches all the suitable possibilities to enable us to decide together the best way forward. Indeed once an investment or mortgage is found he continues to provide the follow support necessary. We would wholeheartedly recommend him to others as an advisor.

My wife and I needed a new mortgage and life insurance.

How has Robert Jordan helped you?

Robert took the time to understand our specific needs before providing tailored solutions based on our needs. He saved us a bunch of money on our mortgage, even taking care of the paperwork so all we had to do was sign on the dotted line. How much we were paying as well as his commission were all clearly laid out. The same was true of the life insurance.

i had three different personal pensions and when reached the age of 60 and wanted to combined them together and utilise the tax free 25% so needed professional advice.

I had numerous old work pensions that were just sat doing nothing so I wanted advice as to how they could work better for me?.

How has Robert Jordan helped you?

Robert looked at the current pensions I had and came up with a few options as to how we could get them working better and potentially offering me a much better pension pot upon my retirement. He explained everything clearly and in a language that was easily understood. He took time to listen to my requirements, arranged meetings around me and kept me informed at all times on how things were progressing.

Robert has done everything he said he was going to do and the wheels are now in motion. I am a few years away from retirement but I feel now I have a pension plan that is going to benefit mine and my families future.

I retired at 60 and was looking for the best way to utilise some of my pension funds. I also later sold some property and wanted to invest the equity in the most efficient way to achieve income as well as growth.

Robert understood our situation, regarding obtaining a mortgage for us and the urgency of our case. We had previously been let down by a mortgage advisor and were very sceptical. How has Robert Jordan helped you?

Rob is a very methodical and thorough advisor. He is patient and will explain things several times if you don't quite follow the plot. He is very knowledgeable and before becoming an advisor he worked in a bank, so he has experience of financial markets and advising on savings and investments. He will give you plenty of time to think and ask questions. He is always available to answer questions by email and the great thing for us is that he is local.

What could they have done better?

Maybe if he could drop an email every couple of months to see how things are and ask whether we have any questions - not just wait until the review from the investing company we are using comes through or for us to contact him. I woud then feel a little more 'in touch'. I realise that we could contact him just as easily if we needed to but it is just a small suggestion. We are generally very happy with how Rob works.

Rob explained to me in layman's terms what I needed to know about my pension and what I should expect from him and his associates. Very easy to deal with and any questions from me by email were met with a very quick response.

Rob worked with me originally as one of our corporate advisors and stood out because he listened came up with sensible solutions and provided a personal service. It was therefore a logical move for him to set up his own firm where he has continued to do the same. My affairs are not completely straightforward and his management of the various strands has never caused me angst or a service problem. He's also a nice guy which helps. Not always in your face trying to sell you something.
