What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Kit Finney has been my financial adviser for well over 25 years now, and has helped me with all financial matters for both my personal and business affairs.

How has Kit Finney helped you?

Kit has always given very sound advise, with total understanding of my needs. He and his staff are very good at keeping in contact, and explaining anything that I don't fully understand without making me feel stupid. I trust them all totally and have always been very happy with the friendly service and have on several occasions recommended Kit and his team to friends, all of whom have been as happy as me with the advice and service.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, I have always seen an increase on my investments, even in harder times. I now live in Australia, but I still use Kit as my financial adviser as I fear I will not find someone as successful or trustworthy as Kit.

What to do with our savings to plan for the future prior to and after retirement.

By discussing what we required from our savings moving forward Kit was able to offer advice into a programme of investment which fulfilled those requirements completely.

Yes, the recommendations offered by JCF have proved very reliable and have seen my investments grow substantially.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have never had cause to request or receive advice on Insurances, Mortgages, or Auto Enrolment. I sold a company and wanted investment advice because I have never used a tax accountant for appropriate investment

I feel close to my I F A. We both speak openly and honestly on a one to one basis. He provides me with a quarterly review of my portfolio with recommendations. We have a formal annual review covering all aspects of MY present and future financial position and commitments. During the year we E-Mail and/or speak on the phone quite often.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Definitely YES , apart from the past 4 or 5 months or so, when the global Economy and Brexit reduced the Footse 100 by 9% or10%

What could they have done better?

I have used Kit Finney for about 20 years. I am 85 years old, and I wish that Kit had recommended setting up a 'Family Trust' and an 'Educational Trust' much earlier than 2014 so that by 2021 those funds would be 'out of my estate' for tax purposes.

After a change in my situation and with little knowledge of financial planning and investments, I was recommended by a trusted friend to meet Kit. From our first meeting I was impressed with his understanding of my long time goal and level of risk I was prepared to take, before talking me through the various available options. He was very patient and spoke in a way that a novice could understand. He has been instrumental in guiding me through my changed financial status to my utmost satisfaction and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

JCF has a ‘client profile’ sector in which it excels and Kit works hard to cultivate clients and prospects in that sector. Other IFAs operate in other sectors and JCF does not attempt to compete. I cannot come up with any area of their operation to criticise.

Kit is extremely approachable and knowledgeable. He takes time to set out what the client is trying to achieve and is happy to keep shaping the portfolio to get the best for the client in reward terms and peace of mind.

What could they have done better?

I am probably not the best Client in the world, as I don't understand the financial jargon and all the rules. I need more hand holding I think. I probably need to receive on a more regular basis a black and white summary of what state my portfolio is in and what income it would yield if I retired tomorrow. I keep putting the day off as I still don't fully understand it all.

Kit has always given me sound and honest advice. Trusting an advisor is a tough thing to do. Kit has earned my trust over the years we have 'planned' my finances. I find he is open and honest and presents information at an apropriate level. I started at a very basic level with him, but over the years this has increased. Investments can go down as well as up - something we all sign repeatedly - and its when things are not going so well that you can see the true colours of your advisors. Kit and his team have a good colour.

Kit has been excellent in helping me manage my financial situation. At the start of our relationship it was a little bit of investment advice and help with mortgages. However, as I started a family and progressed into my career we starting to look at future planning, pensions, and insurance. Kit asks all of the right questions and then clearly listens to what you want to achieve before giving advice. Kit and his team are also always available to you when you have a question, and adopt an open and approachable communication style that gives you real confidence. With matters as important as those a financial adviser gives you, it is important you can build a long-term relationship with an advisor you can trust and who clearly has your interests at heart.
