How has Keith Spencer helped you?

We were in a mess 7-8 years ago and needed help desperately! At wits end with our current accountant and someone recommended Keith Spencer. Haven't looked back since.

What could they have done better?

Not much, they are polite without being overbearing. firm when things are going too far off track and getting too delayed! Not much to complain about!

I have been a client of Keith Spencer and his company, First Call Accounting Limited, since he set up business in Billericay Essex, in February 2011. During the time that I have been a client of the business I have found Keith and all of his staff to be extremely professional in all that they do as well as being friendly and accommodating in regard of everything that I have asked of them I would wholly recommend First Call Accounting to all clients, whether a large company or a small sole trader, you will not regret making them YOUR accountant

What could they have done better?

Not much, really. We have not had any cause to either complain or suggest improvements

How has Keith Spencer helped you?

Apollo Plant Hire came to Keith at First Call Accounting in 2007, he paid us a visit with Abbey his apprentice. He assured me( as I do the accounts) that Apollo could benefit from the change as I had just started to use Sage accounting and was not happy with the support given to me by our current accountant. It is very daunting changing your accountant but First Call helped with every step of the way. They are so approachable (I always felt intimidated by our previous accountan0 and friendly and nothing was a problem. I am now a confident user of Sage Apollo now employs three members of staff and we have become a Limited company.SO having good advice has helped us have the confidence to grow.I have a wonderful working relationship with First Call and all the staff members there now and actually look forward to visiting the accountant ( I used to dread it). The service they provide in all areas of Apollo from end of year accounts, vat , paye or payroll are I feel easier and clear so I can understand all aspects of our business.

What could they have done better?

Having changed from quite an old fashioned accountant and moving to First Call I feel they have their finger on the pulse and move with the times and technology of the future. I feel safe to move on with them. Having seen the difference between my old accountant and First Call I can not say anything they could do better.

How has Keith Spencer helped you?

I have worked with First call accounting for a number of years and have received an impeccable service. I know if I have ever a question regarding financing or change within the business I can call them and someone will be able to help me and if they do not have a solution straight away they will get back to me that day with an answer. I use First call accounting as my accountant and business advisors. I could not recommend them highly enough.

What could they have done better?

I have never had any problems with them finding me a solution to a problem.

How has Keith Spencer helped you?

Keith assigns you an accountant who looks after your accounting and bookkeeping. In my experience I can call them anytime and they are across the issues relevant to my business. It doesn't sound much but this has been a consistent feature of the last five years and incredibly helpful. They know what's happening and have that history to draw on. Its very relational. I would say that they prompt me with due dates etc and the service extends to small things like telling me amounts I need to pay to HMRC for example, the account details, account number and sort code and due by dates. I would emphasise they prompt me. I would also say that they are able to explain compliance in plain English

What could they have done better?

I understand they run a busy practice and they are not always immediate in their response but in almost all cases the return time to actually chat is about 6-12 hours. I would say though that usually there is a short email to acknowledge they are aware of the query usual;y after I make contact.

From the start of our business, First Call have taken care of our accounts, bookkeeping and VAT for me. They explain things in an easy to understand way and if I have any questions I can call them and ask them. They are a great support to our business.

How has Keith Spencer helped you?

We changed our accounts to First Call Accounting due to our previous accountants never taking the time to explain anything regarding our accounts. The last straw came when they forgot to inform us of PAYE payments meaning First Call had a lot of issues to rectify when taking over, they fixed all of the issues and didn’t charge nearly as much as the old accountants. We have worked closely with them ever since, to our mutual advantage.
