I was initially called by Anuj for a quick chat. We agreed he would email me a fee proposal and I confirmed my email address. I didn't hear back so a few days later I sent a message through the form on his website. Still no response, so a week later I tried again, this time using the live chat option. The person on the other end took my details and said he would be in touch. Still nothing... not a great experience. I'll be looking elsewhere.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I gifted a big amount of money from my dad which was transferred from outside UK to UK for the last three years through money exchange company. As it was not possible to transfer money directly from my country to UK, it had to be done through third party. About two months ago I received a letter from HMRC asking me about these different transactions and moneys coming into my accounts.

Anuj really helped to sort out all transactions coming to my account and told me exactly what documents is needed and how is the best way to convience HMRC that these moneys is not an income and is only a gift.

Anuj explained HMRC jargon in plain English. I had a long list of questions from what sort of bookkeeping software to use, how to pay my employees and how to trade overseas and this did not phase him whatsoever. I had previously visited another Accountant who did not provide half the advice Anuj did in the initial consultation.
