Rob is always positive, very clear and always listens and responds to our questions. He gives us confidence in all decisions made. He with our agreement reviewed our current arrangements and made recommendations which involved big changes without changing our risk factor. These were implemented smoothly in October, always keeping us informed and to date pleased with the results

Never felt pushed into any decision but impressed with professionalism and always answered my queries in initial setting up of my agreed financial way forward. We always have a yearly meeting to discuss progress.

Obviously in this period we have seen many challenges Covid, Ukraine invasion, domestic financial crisis plus others. We needed assistance running a process to select new investment managers and some financial/inheritance planning advice following the death of a family member.

How has Rob Bowers helped you?

Rob helped us to devise and run a selection process for investment managers from identifying a long list of potential managers (and strategies), down selecting to a short list, running interviews and analysing strategy/risks/returns. Once we had selected our new managers, Rob and team assisted with the tricky process of moving management and custody of products and (where applicable) wrappers over to our new managers. On the inheritance tax planning side, Rob provided specific advice on gifting, term and WOL insurance products as well as overall strategy.

Both planning and investment advice require a long term relationship and are ongoing, but we have achieved what we aimed to achieve to date.

I had a transfer value for a Final Salary scheme and wanted to understand the options and best course of action. We were also going through training to be approved for adoption, so a financial health check and review of future scenarios was also needed.

How has Rob Bowers helped you?

The FSS transfer was completed and the advice given was transparent and spot on, very happy with how the Sipp has performed in the last 6 years. Rob has advised on our wider financial health and how we can better manage it, with plenty of short term and longer term changes and actions we have taken. We feel far more confident about the options and how flexible we can be with our financial health, especially as our son might need care for many years.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The FSS transfer and subsequent performance of the Sipp have exceeded expectations, but the best outcome is to have built a relationship whereby Rob understands our family, what is important to us and what lifestyle events and choices we need to plan for.

What could they have done better?

I am normally a pessimistic welshman, but I can honestly say I do not have any areas where Rob and his team could have done more for us. Rob listens, walks through the options, asks totally objective questions that lead to an honest discussion where you weigh up what is best. Never felt pressured or wished we had not made a decision after the event, that is down to the rapport Rob builds and the understanding he has of us.
