Olivier managed to deal with my very basic level of understanding about financial planning and give clear explanations of the options available to me. He also ensured that I fully understood the risks and benefits of any decision that I might make regarding my financial future. He was efficient in setting up meetings and responding in a timely fashion and I received clear written and online information about our discussions and actions. He has enabled me to start on a process of longer term finical planning and investment with more confidence.

Need for transferring employment pension plan as I was approaching my retirement

Olivier provided excellent advice on the options available to me before arranging the transfer from my employer’s complicated pension plan which would not have been as simple without his knowledge and expertise.

Yes Olivier has successfully managed to get my pension transferred to and I felt confident in putting my complete trust in him to arrange for a flexi drawdown pension.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted to ensure that I was getting the most out of my earnings, particularly in terms of savings

How has Olivier Pfanner helped you?

Olivier has helped me with all aspects of my financial planning, from organising my top-up pension and stocks-and-shares ISA through to putting me in touch with a mortgage advisor who also provided excellent service.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely, I've been getting very positive returns on both the pension and ISA, I was very happy with the mortgage deal, and Olivier has regularly reviewed my circumstances with me and suggested changes that I may wish to make.

I can't think of anything that I would change about Olivier's service.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have been headed a number of companies and VC firms over the years, and have found it increasingly difficult to keep on top of my personal finances which are complex. I was looking for somebody reliable and competent to work with.

How has Olivier Pfanner helped you?

Olivier tracked down and consolidated all of my pensions policies down from previous employers, which has greatly simplified the overall administration of my affairs. I have also invested portions of my wealth with him through a number of tax efficient investment wrappers, such as ISAs, investment accounts, and more recently EIS and VCT structures. My overall portfolio is now invested in a range of asset classes, from FTSE type trackers and bonds to alternative strategies.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Olivier has delivered beyond my expectations. I feel that I can trust him to run my affairs effectively, thereby allowing me to focus more of my attention on my work schedule and personal life.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was originally approached by a different financial advisor who changed his career patch and introduced me to Olivier as his replacement. The reason I decided to go with the financial advisor was that I was very busy at work and just didn't have the time or the energy to look after my pension or long term personal savings and investments.

Demonstrate the different risk models, and changing profile as one nearers retirement. Tax efficiency.

Partially, in year 1, good performance, year 2 markets took a hit and capital gains were limited.

What could they have done better?

In this case nothing, however, I could forsee a time when mid-year, a change in investment profile would be advisable, and would expect to hear at the time, rather than end of year and suffer such losses that could occur in the event of changing markets.
