I am still no good with figures but the ISA and pension pot seem OK. It’s great not to have to concern myself with anything. Thanks to Steve’s suggestion I was eventually able to apply for and was awarded Attendance Allowance, a small but very useful sun as my mobility has diminished.

Initially we set a target for the growth of the investments and pension and Steve also helped me simplify the finances I inherited after the divorce and understand them better. I rely on Steve completely to take care of my finances - I would not know where to start - and he has done very well for me. It is also good to have a "face to face" with him every 18 months or so.

My wife and I had recently retired and had also received inheritances from our parents, which we wished to invest for growth, initially, and then income, if necessary, in oder to provide for our retirement and possible care fees in the future. Estate planning was also something we wanted guidance on, as well as personal pensions.
How has Steve Midgley helped you?
We were passed to Steve Midgley from our previous financial adviser, also of Black Swan, who was seeking to retire. Steve took over the management of our investments and has provided excellent advice ever since.

Yes. we are very pleased with the performance of our investments through Black Swan.
What could they have done better?
I am not sure that I can think of anything at this stage. Our portfolio is not complicated and seems to run itself, with some tweaking from Steve.

I was coming up towards semi-retirement and needed to realise some of my pension pot and other available funds
How has Steve Midgley helped you?
Steve assisted with the transactions with the pension company (Aviva) and oversaw the re-investment of these funds in a drawdown arrangement and in a stocks and shares ISA. In addition he gave good advice on changes to an existing bond.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Obviously at present the stock market is in a less healthy position than previously but I have every confidence in Steve being able to provide continuing good advice in the evolving situation.
What could they have done better?
Nothing that I can think of, I'm not especially competent in dealing with finance and it's good to have someone one can be completely confident of.
