What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted to be prepared for my retirement and also understand how best to invest resources that I had be that in property / ISA / Pension investments.

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

Spent time to understand my objectives. Consolidate "old" passive investments into a more active set of investments and provided visibility via the platform where I can see all my investements.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

From the earlier actions yes , these have continued to grow well, more recently with a large pension transfer it's too early to say.

What could they have done better?

Probably more frequent contact, but that is as much on me to ask as for Chandan to organise.

HSBC , of which I am a pensioner, withdrew their "Personal advisor" service and I saw Chandan at the Bank. liked and felt I could trust him and he told me he was shortly leaving the Bank and starting practice as a Financial Advisor so I became one of his first clients.

I felt limited by what products my bank (HSBC) could actually offer. They switched from IFA's to advisors that could really only advise on HSBC products rather than the whole of market

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

Chandan was my premier manager at HSBC and When he left I wanted to continue that contact but experience a wider range of products and more impartial advise. Chandan has helped my plan for my retirement and assisted with both BTL and residential mortgages. I have minimised my tax liability where possible.

Yes, I have seen solid growth across my portfolio. I feel comfortable with my risk profile and Chandan has kept me sleeping at night through this very uncertain period.

Chandan's telephone manner was very friendly and quickly got to the point. After taking some details and some quick questions about what my initial expectations of advice were, he quickly worked through some examples where he thought he could certainly add value and gave me sufficient confidence to go to the next step. His initial phone call was almost 30 minutes, quite thorough and it was pleasing to note that the subject of potential fees did not arise until I asked specifically for them. There was no sell, let alone a hard sell. All in all a satisfying first contact Chandan is on my (very) short list. We are meeting face to face and a final decision will be made after that.

I was aware that my two existing plans were performing very badly.

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

He helped me to work out what my own attitude is to risk, a very important factor which no advisor had ever done before, and also to work out what sort of annual income I needed and could afford, in retirement. Having done this, he found several suitable options for me, explained their virtues in a clear way without unnecessary technicalities. Having fixed on an option, he then put it into effect with admirable efficiency. So a terrific service, from every point of view.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had previously seen an adviser about transferring my pensions, but he only seemed interested in annuties. That wasn't what I wanted, so I looked elsewhere.

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

Chandan listened to what I wanted and had a look at what my pensions were worth. He then took me through my financial needs and explained my options, and helped me find the one that suited me best. He did all the work to transfer the pensions into investments to provide growth and income for the future.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Instead of giving up my money for a limited guarantee annuity, it was put into a drawdown pension which preserved my capital and gave me control of it.

What could they have done better?

I found Chandon friendly and helpful. He took time to explain everything and made sure I understood it all. He was quite happy to go over something if I wasn't quite sure of it. Above all, he listened to what I wanted.

Turned 50 last year, have had a few bits of pension provision in place but wasn't sure if it would be enough for retirement.

Chandan came to our house, completed a financial report on our pensions and has set us up with a new provider to maximise our pension pots. He will also be keeping an eye on them and reporting back to us on a yearly basis with recommendations if we need to change anything. My wife and I are very happy with the service from Chandan who has given us confidence that we will have the pension we want.

To attempt to maximise my pension investments on the run up to retirement. I was initially approached by a service provider/marketing agency who recommended him to me.

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

he advised me with respect to combining my various pension funds into a single plan with better returns. The advice was straight forward and given in a manner which was easily understandable. The various returns and risks were explained clearly and succinctly. In addition he recommended an alternative ISA savings scheme which should also maximise my return within the risk profile I was prepared to accept.

It is too early yet to assess whether the products he recommended will perform to expectations. However, I am happy with the recommendations and actions that I took at this stage.

Review of various pensions with a view to maximising potential growth and portfolio protection.

Chandan did an in depth analysis of available funds and shortlisted those that best met my individual criteria.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I was clear and happy with the proposed selections. Chandan is on hand if I have any queries.

What could they have done better?

I wanted to consolidate and have a general health check on my pension status.

How has Chandan Hinduja helped you?

He transferred an old pension into a better performing fund and gave me advise on my other existing pots.

Yes.

What could they have done better?

Nothing, I received very good advice and it was an overall great experience dealing with Chandan. i will use him again when next I seek financial advice.

Still early days, I have yet to meet in person, but the introduction over the phone and the brief but honest and concise advice over the phone reassured me that Chandan seems trustworthy, knowledgeable and helpful. So I will certainly be using his services in the future.

He is trustworthy, informed and reliable and always available for advice. He tailored his decisions to my financial needs and preferences. In addition, his presentation & communication of the various options for my retirement plan was clear & detailed.

What could they have done better?

A simple cheat sheet indicating all the relevant personal documents that are required for the relevant options for each service provide would have been valuable.

I am absolutely delighted with the service that Chandan has provided me. It is reassuring to know that I am working with a trusted and highly competent financial advisor who is helping me reach the goals I want without pushing his own agenda. He is knowledgeable and trustworthy, and really took the time to get to know my long term financial needs. What really impressed me was the way he took the time to get a feeling for where I was at, his depth of knowledge, lateral thinking and common sense approach. After several meetings with Chandan, I took on his recommendations and here I am 3 years on extremely pleased with the decision I made. He has always explained everything thoroughly and I have never felt uncomfortable asking stupid questions or expressing an opinion. Chandan is extremely well versed with current market developments and has well thought out forward looking views of financial markets and regulatory developments which makes him give excellent advice regarding financial planning. Chandan communicates clearly and concisely. He breaks down the financial jargon and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He was knowledgeable on any of the services and products I asked him about and answered everything satisfactory manner.

What could they have done better?

The whole process from advising and the actual plan being in place has taken a lot longer than expected. I am not sure if this is something Chandan could have pushed harder as I am at the behest of Insurance companies.

Chandan provided me with comprehensive insight on mortgage and equity release options and prepared a detailed financial planning report outlining what options I had to protect myself from the debts in case of any unexpected events.
