We review both our pension income and our personal investments. The advice we recieve from Andrew has always been advantagous. A lot of our trust in his advice has been built up over a period of time and we consider him trustworthy which is a key requirement for us.

So far as I am concerned Andrew has been very clear about the fees and has got me a better deal, so personally I am satisfied (although I think all his firm's fees, like many others, are on the high side (not his fault) which is why I have not given them top marks for value for money).

We didn't feel competent to look after substantial lump sums we inherited or were given on retirement.

Suggested tax free ways of investing in Stocks and shares through ISAs. He's also helped us with advice on changes in inheritance laws. he has explained the current state of the financial market relating to political and especially the current epidemic influence on the markets. he explains the various approaches to the issues that his company (Mazars) takes. We inherited a lot of money and didn't feel capable of managing it ourselves. I have in the past bought and sold shares but never felt particularly confident

How has Andrew Milligan helped you?

Andrew Milligan is excellent at explaining things. Never talks down to us. He goes beyond just answering the questions, giving us a good background knowledge as to how things work. He is concerned about our personal family circumstances. I feel also confident our money is as safe as it can be which is worth paying for which is also why I don't particularly study the charges. He responds quickly to our requests and is sensitive to our financial needs.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The charts showing how our finances are doing are always much better than the usual FTSE and other standard comparative indexes. Particularly pleased with his handling of our finances this last tricky year. The year ahead is another bumpy ride probably with the effects of Brexit making themselves more evident but again we have confidence that Andrew will look after us and react fast and appropriately where necessary.

I receive an annual statement and review and have asked for(but not, so far, received a summary and breakdown of the various fees charged by the three parties involved in administering my pension. It seems to be an industry policy not to provide this for clients but, personally (as an ex professional), think it would be very helpful to have that as part of the statement.

I didn't realise that at 55 you could take advantage of the tax free lump sum from your pension pot and once I was informed of this I decided to look into this hence requiring advice.

Andrew was a good listener and rapidly assessed my personal needs in our initial reviews, coming up with a sensible and well-reasoned proposal for my proposed early retirement. I had not considered a transfer out of my main (final salary) pension scheme before meeting him, but then agreed to and have been very happy with my decision since. Some months later, I then decided to ask Andrew to review my father's current investments and pension too, following the unfortunate need to invoke his power of attorney, and a number of key changes were made as a result.
