What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advice about a personal pension which had a Benefit Guarantee and was unsure how to go about it. I was also wanting to retire.

How has Neil Parker helped you?

Neil and his team ensured that the insurance company kept to their commitment, approved the benefit guarantee and advised me about how best to proceed from there. I understood the whole process and was regularly updated about events.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I am extremely satisfied with the positive outcome. I have been able to retire, feel financially secure and have planned for the future.

What could they have done better?

The whole process is dependent on your individual requirements and I have been extremely happy with the process and outcome.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had recently divorced and had various small pensions which I had no idea what to do with. I attended a free session at a local pub where Neil was giving advice about pensions.

How has Neil Parker helped you?

Neil and his team explained everything in such a simple manner, I had been totally baffled prior to talking to him. Neil gave me a lifestyle/planning questionnaire from which he built a plan personal to me.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I have had my plan for just under a year and I am about to have my first review in which I will see how things are progressing. Neil and his team also sorted my will and estate planning, so I feel as though my future is well taken care of.

What could they have done better?

I can't think of anything that Neil could have done better. Both he and his team put you at your ease and make you feel a valued customer.

We needed advice on making our nest egg work for us and protect our family in the event of our death.

Neil allowed us to view our investment in the long term allowing us to enjoy our lives and help our family without anxiety he explained fully our position and included planing for later life.

How has Neil Parker helped you?

We were apprehensive about our first meeting with Neil for a number of reasons; would we understand what he was saying to us, would we feel confident about his advice and most importantly, would our assets be sufficient to achieve the retirement we both wanted? After the first few minutes it was apparent that Neil is a great listener/communicator and he is succinctly able to get to the heart of the matter of what you have, and whether it will enough for the life you want to live. The whole process has been fascinating and enlightening - we would never have been able to think things through in such a way without his humorous and relaxed approach. At no time have we been pressured to take a decision that we were not comfortable with. His team in the office are extremely pleasant and they have together brought us to the point where we can move forward with this next phase our lives far sooner than we hoped.

Today is the first contact from Neil Parker's Office. Weeks after my initial application, I received a telephone message with a follow up email. I will call back tomorrow to hopefully arrange an initial meeting, but it has put back my retirement pension plans by a few weeks!

How has Neil Parker helped you?

Our first visit to Neil and was put at ease immediately by his easy going manner and his ability to listen to what we required. At no point where we put under pressure to do anything we where not sure about. Our second visit Neil laid out his advice on the way forward to which we agreed was best for us. We have a date for our third visit to conclude the progress and we are looking forward to meeting up with Neil once again. On the first two visits the staff were excellent and made us very welcome.

Neil provided me with a very professional and friendly service that took account of all my requirements as well my concerns regarding risk. His friendly and natural manner, coupled with a high level of expertise, enabled me to quickly feel at ease and appreciate that the advice I was being offered was right for me. I particularly liked his use of simple diagrams and analogies that spoke so much more than typical financial jargon that I may have struggled to fully understand. Follow up literature accurately reflected our discussions and, again, I very much liked the diagrammatic manner in which my plan was presented. I would have no hesitation in recommending Neil's services to anyone wishing to secure their long term future and, in my own case, balanced with a need to enjoy life along the way! The whole service I received from all members of the Team, from the moment I walked through the door, was nothing short of excellence.

How has Neil Parker helped you?

Neil explained the complicated maze of pensions and annuities and took away all the jargon so it was straightforward and logical. I found the wipe clean board setting out how pensions and drawdowns worked very useful. Neil was quick to assess my own personal situation and worked out the best pension for me. The staff at JoslinRhodes are extremely efficient and friendly and kept me up to date with progress of my application. They are a credit to the firm and I would have no hesitation in recommending the firm to my friends.

What could they have done better?

There is not anything Neil could improve upon with the service he provided me in relation to financial advce regarding pensions and annuities. We touched on estate planning too, and I intend to take this further in the near future.

When I retired we had a bunch of money from lump sums and savings accumulated over the years that we needed to do something with. We needed sound and truthful financial advice.Neil took on board what we required and explained how that money could work for us. He explained how investments and ISA's worked in a clear and concise way and took us through what would happen to our finances when they were invested and how much it would cost. We feel safe in the knowledge that capital is not withering away and can keep a check on that from our regular meetings.Nothing seem "to much trouble".

What could they have done better?

Not having any financial "know how" I could not presume to suggest improvements in the way Neil works. In my experience both he and the staff have been courteous, friendly, helpful and informative at all times.

Excellent service since appointing Neil as my sole financial advisor in 2010. As a novice investor prior to 2010 (ie through building society accounts) and having very recently retired it was important to me that any financial advisor understood my financial position and more importantly my attitude to risk. At the outset Neil undertook a thorough review of my financial position, my financial goals and my attitude to risk. This review 'opened my eyes' to investment opportunities that I had not previously considered whilst providing assurance that my risk exposure was consistent with my willingness to invest in new areas. Over the past three years I have received expert advice across a range of areas leading to me investing the majority of my savings through Neils advice. Neil also supported me in establishing cost effective solutions for investing in my grandchildrens future through trust arrangements. I have participated in regular financial/portfolio reviews over the past three years both as scheduled reviews and through additional reviews undertaken at my request. Neil (and his team) are readily available and offer a friendly, transparent service that suit my needs perfectly.

Neil has been our IFA since I retired in March 2009 and has guided us through all areas of investment, taxation and estate planning. His knowledge and communication skills are excellent and this has enabled my wife and I to take the decisions that suit our circumstances, aspirations and attitude to risk. Having reached decisions, Neil and the Joslin Rhodes team have enacted all the consequential actions, taking all the hassle out of such tasks for us. Neil and the team are always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Above all, I suppose, the returns achieved on the investments have been most satisfactory.

What could they have done better?

Since we are so pleased with the quality of service received, it is very difficult to think of anything in this category. Perhaps a simple indication of the performance of the investment portfolio against other, similar investment packages would be useful. Of-course, Neil provides this data at individual investment level when we conduct 6-monthly reviews. What I have in mind is more a whole portfolio view against some kind of industry average for a similar risk structure.
