I initially read references on Stephen and I was impressed by his attitude in relation to both his client base and his relationship to them. When I had need to call on Stephen professionally I found my first impressions were correct, he is extremely concerned that he is fully informed of both the person and the client, which is unusual in this fast moving age. I have no doubt I will be calling on his services in the future.

I found Stephen Cross, to be a thoroughly pleasant person to deal with. Even though I did not end up choosing to take out a pension, Stephen was open and honest with his assessment of my financial needs and at no point was there any pressure to do so. I would recommend Stephen to anybody thinking of exploring their investment options as a balanced and honest option.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

As we are progressing in years we were becoming more aware that our retirement planning consisted of many small pension pots that we didnt know what to do with or how they were performing. We had an initial appointment with "Pension Wise" the Government advice service, who recommended we needed more advise and guidance to "fill the gaps" and plan for the retirement we both said we want. I spent some time researching how best to meet our needs and found Stephen - and I am so glad we did!

Stephen has explained in "laymen's" terms what we already have, how that works for us, he has looked at what we want for the future and how we can best meet those goals.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Stephen has achieved more than I thought we would, he is gifted at looking at realistic goals and providing different options of achieving them. Our understanding of the different pension types including what we already and how to increase our pension income, is far better following his meetings and I feel more confident that we have a good plan for retirement with out any panic.

Stephen was amazing - great communication and extremely knowledgeable - no questions fazed him!

Stephen provided very helpful telephone guidance on how I might resolve a problem with a pension company. This enabled me to resolve the problem on my own, so I didn't need to formerly engage his services and I don't anticipate needing these services in future. I did not have any contact with True Potential Wealth Management so cannot rate them.

There are benefits moving from defined benefit pension scheme to private pension scheme. Over a certain fund size, a financial advisor is required by law for the transfer.

How has Stephen Cross helped you?

He came to my house and did explain both positive and negative of the transfer. Not everyone will get approved for a defined benefit pension transfer. He looked into my details and made analysis for free before approving it with an additional member of the company.

Yes, the pension pot has grown as expected so far.

Stephen has done a great job, nothing more to add really. It's something more for future, maybe to make contact when the time is right to make further addition to the investment.

I had known Stephen from his previous role, with Britannia and was happy to use his services when he moved company.

He has helped to move my investments to the True Potential platform and has given advice to my brother and I for a number of years. This has helped me greatly, especially over making a will, which has given me peace of mind.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Until the recent falls in value due to the coronavirus outbreak, yes. He helped to move my portfolio to a more risky platform, at my request. I had seen great improvements, until the recent panic selling. However, he has made my savvy enough to realise that falls like we are seeing now are likely to only be temporary and that there will be suitable opportunities to invest in future.

What could they have done better?

Previously, I had requested he went a little slower with the review process. Although I think I am financially savvy, this hasn't always been the case. Since I made that request, he has gone through things slightly more slowly, which has been helpful.
