Melinda was introduced to me by a friend and she was very accommodating and prompt with her correspondence. She fitted me at short notice too. Melinda was very friendly and put me at ease as we were discussing my finances and she gave me great advice and things I’d not even thought of. There were multiple pension accrued none of which were being contributed to and needed review, as well as setting my own pension back up having gone self employed a few years earlier.

After contacting several advisors I was generally dissapointed with their attitude, I wanted to have a general chat to discuss the situation I found myself in, most had a generic email which they forwarded with an array of advice, facts and figures and of course their all important fees. No one took the time to ineract on a human level. Melinda seemed to understand where I was coming from and took the time to talk me through the maze of options and why it was a legal obligation to deal with a financial advisor, I felt at ease and that there were no wrong questions I could ask as Melinda broke all the information into mouth size pieces for a layman to understand, I have other financial decisions to made made in the future which I look forward to actioning with Melinda who I would recommend to anyone without fear of reprisal. I could have used other financial advisors who thou not agreeable with for a cheaper setup fee but paid a extra percentage such was my confidence in Melinda.

Yes, my pension is now invested with a major company to which it will require at least year to see how the fund performs.

What could they have done better?

As with all of us I would have liked to pay a smaller setup fee

Our solicitors made a miscalculation at 1700 which would jeopardise our purchase we couldn’t get hold of the solicitors but spoke with Mel who was able to identify the miscalculation and put things in place so it was rectified first thing the next morning

How has Melinda Bush helped you?

Moving house to one with an annexe isn't easy - especially when our current mortgage lender wouldn't re-mortgage us for a place with an annexe! A lot of research, calls and know-how from Rebecca Burden at Quartz meant we had options and were able to make the move easily, without any fuss. Rebecca updated us, came round to see us and liaised with everyone she needed to during the whole process. If you want to avoid evenings spent comparing mortgages and chasing paperwork and making calls, ask Quartz to take care of it for you - a weight off your shoulders!

Yes - we got the mortgage we needed and everything taken care of.

Melinda has been the most amazing person! I originally used her to buy my dad's share of the family home, she worked with us so well as my mum is disabled and has very little income. My credit wasn't great at the time and she help with working towards a better credit history before applying for the right mortgage. As she was so amazing with understanding what we needed and securing us a mortgage, I then went to her when I needed to get a mortgage for a new build help to buy property. Melinda has been brilliant the whole way through, answering every single question, even the stupid little ones in a way that my partner can understand. she has helped us in more than just mortgage, securing insurances, giving my partner life lessons (in a jestful way) helping us make choices about finances, currently and going forward.

We wanted to ensure our Life Assurances and Wills were completed to ensure we have the planning in place and peace of mind that we are not going to leave a mess should anything happen to us.

With no pressure or rush to ensure that we considered all the options for our Will and Lasting Power Of Attorney documents. Melinda was not only considerate and knowledgeable but genuinely wanted to ensure we got exactly what we wanted in our inheritance planning.

Yes. Legally binding Wills and the documentation in place for the LPA - we cannot express how confident we are that our son is well considered in the event of our death. Plus, the fact he is a mid teen, we were able to consider the options for him at his age now (should anything happen), but equally post 18, 25 and so on.

What could they have done better?

Quartz FS have provided excellent advice and found the right products for our situation in terms of both our life assurance and ensured we considered all things through on our Will and LPA requirements. I really recommend both Melinda and Rebecca to others needing these essential, but lets face it, not very exciting future planning requirements.

So far it has been fantastic dealing with Melinda. She was in touch immediately - despite us initially contacting her on New Years Eve. She gave up an hour or so of her New Years Day to talk through our situation and we had a breakdown of options by the end of the day. She got to grips with our situation very quickly and came up with options that we would never have considered, or even known about, without her help. She continues to be very responsive and helpful and I’m looking forward to finalising our two separate mortgages with her soon.
