What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

When looking to buy our first property, Greg helped us with securing a mortgage. We have since then worked with him on my partners pension, and now buying our 2nd property.

I received an inheritance when my mum died recently, and had no prior knowledge or understanding of investing.

How has Gregory Cooke helped you?

Greg has helped me enormously in helping me understand the best course of action for growing my investment according to the risk I am willing to take. He has taken plenty of time to understand my circumstances, listen to my inheritance plans and really provided great advice and guidance in regard to managing and investing the money to create realistic growth. He has answered any questions I have had in an easy-to-understand way considering I have no prior experience of investing. As well, Greg has been sensitive to the fact that the inheritance I have received comes with an emotional attachment. He is always easy to contact if I have any queries or need further explanation and keeps me updated with what is happening. Greg is very easy to talk to and no question is a 'silly question' in his eyes. I believe that he is working hard in my best interests and the advice he gives reflects this.

As I have only recently invested, there hasn't been time yet to see any real outcomes but am confident that in the coming months and years, I will.

Greg was knowledgeable and personable, taking the time to listen to our situation and explain his recommendation. We were very happy to accept this and Greg supported us to arrange an offset mortgage, which was not something we had previously considered but was absolutely the right option for us.

Yes, everything was very smooth and we felt supported throughout. There were certain moments where had we not had Greg to advise us we would have ended up with a less favourable morgage. For example, when our property was valued lower than expected Greg was able to talk us through an appeal, which was ultimately successful.

Purchasing our first home. I found 7-8 advisers online from various review sites, and called them to talk and decide who to go with. Greg was by far the standout candidate from all of them.

Greg supported us through every step of the house-buying process, giving us clear information and advice regarding the options available so that we could make an informed decision. Overall, he helped us with our mortgage, life insurance, building insurance, contents insurance and income protection insurance.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We got everything we wanted from Greg, and then more. He was supportive beyond what we could have expected throughout the process, always available to provide advice when we needed it, whilst never being pushy towards any particular options. In fact on more that one occasion he helped us reach a conclusion that meant he personally received less commission than alternatives available. At no point did we feel that Greg had anything other than our best interests at heart.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We needed an adviser for our mortgage. We had already spoken to several different mortgage advisers and help to buy specialists, then speaking to Greg we quickly realised how much more professional and knowledgeable he was.

How has Gregory Cooke helped you?

His communication, reliability and manner were impeccable, and the speed at which he reacted to issues meant we had our mortgage sorted in record time even when using a particularly difficult lender. He gave us honest and use full advice and drew from experience. The whole process was painless. Thank you for everything.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. We had settled on the mortgage we wanted already and been told by the help to by specialist at the estate agents, in quite a dismissive tone, that we could not use it. Greg did a lot of ground work and came up with several options that suited us best. We went with a renowned slow and difficult lender, but Greg kept a constant dialog and responded quickly to RFI's. We got our offer quicker than we could of imagined and the one we wanted.

What could they have done better?

I have worked with many different people in the construction industry and honesty and integrity are the most I appreciate in people. Greg has both those qualities. He draws from experience and does not pretend to know everything, like most experts I meet do. He works hard to achieve the goals of his client and explains things in a why we could easily understand.

I have sought Mr Cooke's advice twice in 5 years - to remortgage, for a new mortgage, for life insurance, family benefit insurance, and for income protection insurance for my husband. This advice was sought in response to us having children and moving home.

He secured us a new mortgage and advised on the prompt value we could afford. He also talked through the different options available to protect our family in the event of one or both of us dying, and gave sound advice as to which would best meet our needs and suit our income bracket.
