Reassurance when investment rates dipped. I did meet with David in March 2023 when we discussed the pros & cons of funds withdrawal (to purchase a New car ) and where best to withdraw funds. Other areas were discussed including support for a friend & advise regarding long term Care. At this meeting we also focused on inheritance planning although no immediate action taken at this time. The meeting in March 2024 was very positive & with good returns on our investments. The Newsletter that David produces and sends clients on a regular basis recently included the SJP publicity issues re charges. At this meeting he gave us more in depth information on this & clarity on charges and SJP going forward.. Needless to say, we left the meeting assured that our money is in "good hands".

It was identified, after receiving a small inheritance, that we would be disadvantaged with our original saving plans & existing savings were not being capitalised. After an informal meeting, we agreed to a formal review where, taking David's professional advise & keeping in view my attitude to risk, decisions were made to move our investments to SJP.

David has provided us with good, sound financial advice with clear explanation on how the markets are working. He clearly understands our financial needs as he has good listening skills. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

When my mother-in-law died in 2002 my wife and her brother had to pay a large sum in inheritance tax. My wife and I wanted to make sure we could help our children to avoid such a situation. I contacted Burfields house to see how they could help.

How has David Cole helped you?

David advised that we could change the status of our house ownership to give us both an IHT allowance. Sadly my wife died before we could finalise the paperwork. David advised me that it could still be completed as part of my wife’s estate. As I had taken a redundancy package f from me employer of 24 years he also advised me on the best way to deal with the pension fund I was due to receive. After two years of his monitoring, he advised me to transfer the fund to Birfields House.

My pension fund increased by far more than it would have done had it been left with my former employer.

Had investments with a stock broker but became less impressed when company became part of a larger less personal operation. got an advert for a SJP seminar where David spoke and explained SJP and the diversification of funds and the constant monitoring of these. SJP and its funds had done well defensively in a weak period for the Stock Market. It was 2002 and SJP was clearly a better answer for people who wanted to leave matters to the experts

Our funds have shown very positive results and the IHT advice has been extremely helpful. Advice on Wills and setting these up effectively has been given by the Burfields House team and much appreciated Apart from one "Tax Avoidance" scheme which was costly and went wrong we have always received an excellent service and David Cole has always been there to rely on and to ask any questions we might have.

I retired at the age of 67 and at that time myself and my wife went to a Burfields House (SJP) SEMINAR with a view to placing our money in a safe place where it would grow. Since then our funds have gone from strength to strength.
