What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

In the past, the TSB as my banker provided my financial advice as part of my account benefits but following changes to banking rules (as I remember) they were no longer able to provide that service, so I had to look for a private financial adviser.

How has Dhawal Chandan helped you?

Provided advice on where to place my savings in less risky investments consistent with a reasonable rate of return. His advice has had the advantage of keeping a reasonably tight rein on my spending which I know would have been much higher had my savings been sitting in an ordinary current account.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I am no financial expert, which of course is why I employ him, but I have seen nothing to make me regret that decision.

What could they have done better?

His offices are within easy reach of public transport so I can avoid having to use my car, they are comfortable, the staff are friendly, and his advice is given in a similar atmosphere so, coupled with the above answers I can't think of anything that needs improving.

DC is proactive. I know he will be giving me a call to talk through changes in the market/ economy . Initially, I wanted to consolidate my existing pension schemes. At the same time, I wanted advice into investing a sizeable inheritance sum.

How has Dhawal Chandan helped you?

He successfully consolidated my pension plans and also signposted me for advice for transferring out of a former direct pension benefit scheme. DC's advice to update my will and Power of Attorney has been followed. A Wealth Manager has been appointed to manage my inheritance sum on the basis of his advice. Transferring my ISA portfolio has been carried out by DC.

Absolutely, I have the confidence and reassurance that my investments are now positioned where I want.

Nearing retirement age and having several different pensions, I required advice on how to bring everything together and where was the best place to put it. I also wanted a pension investment with the minimum risk i.e. no large losses if the market down turned.

He transferred all the separate pensions of both my wife and myself into two pensions each, both of which have smoothing to reduce the effects of any downturn.

So far yes, we have seen an increase in our funds even through the Covid and brexit difficulties. Our main concern has always been to at least keep in line with inflation in order not to lose what we have worked hard for through the years and that has been more than achieved.

I have a TSB Premier account and as a benefit of that a/c the bank provided financial advice but as a consequence of regulation changes that advice could not continue to be given so I had to find an independent financial adviser and settled on Premier Wealth Management with Dhawal Chandan (DC) as my adviser.

He gave me advice on improving my previous investments to give the best outcome.

Given the very low interest rates that have applied for some considerable time the I would say that the outcome has been as good as it could be in those circumstances.

What could they have done better?

Frankly, I really don't know that there is any improvement to be made, the office is within easy reach of public transport (Charing Cross station in my case) so I don't have think about using and where to park my car. The office staff always make me feel welcome and offer me a cup of tea or coffee and the office has always given the impression of being run in a relaxed atmosphere but on efficient lines. The financial advice I have received always appears to be sound.

DC took a genuine interest in what my objectives were in retirement, looking at current situation, medium and long term. He is extremely knowledgable and explains things in full , answered all of my questions , took time discussing my finances in full ,looking at various options and tax efficiency. I consider DC to be trustworthy and someone who goes that extra mile for his clients.

Yes - The outcome is better than I hoped for. I have in place a good spread of investment and my pension is performing better than I hoped for. I know that DC monitors the funds and is in regular contact with me.

25yrs ago decided to prepare for children’s further education, potential weddings, retirement, etc. Our first adviser moved away, second one was sacked by their company and met DC when he was looking after my aunts private banking about 8 years ago. When he set up his own business and as pir last adviser let us down we spoke to DC and after some positive meetings, we decided to go with his company and have been well served since.

He reviewed our needs and advised us in what investments, etc would best suit our specific needs as they changed through the years. Also reviewing the risks as government policies changed.

Each year since 2009 we have sat down and reviewed our needs, the investments and the returns on the investments. We then agreed a plan and made changes to the portfolio.

Not the returns I had hoped but that is because of the market. When I retired I was getting 6% on a 1 year bond.

What could they have done better?

I am happy with most of the advice been given by the advisor and he has listened when I have not agreed with him. I always come away from the meeting feeling it has been worthwhile as it has been a two way discussion.

I'd never had financial advice and now wish I'd sought it sooner. Essentially, my circumstances necessitated it as my children are now adults and my focus has turned inwards and I needed to become more informed and aware of realistic potential ways of living within my means while planning some important changes (where I live, what I do, etc.).

How has Dhawal Chandan helped you?

My appointment with Dhawal Chandan (DC) was an introductory one and he first explained the company's independent and holistic approach to financial planning then briefed me on confidentiality & data protection matters and made it clear that I was under no obligation whatsoever. I brought along the information requested which he assimilated quickly and very well, he asked various questions and then went on to explain in clear, neat nutshells the main (broad-brush options) available to me with the various pros and cons - which is exactly what I needed.

Yes, most definitely. This was an introductory overview meeting and I intend to return for more detailed advice at the next step. DC is personable, calm, professional and seems very well informed. I appreciated his clear-sighted, balanced overview and it more than exceeded what I felt I could expect from a first meeting.
