How has Rachel Picker helped you?

We were assigned to Rachel when our previous Financial Advisor sold his client list onto Rachel's company. She reviewed our current investment portfolio (S&S ISA and pensions) and recommended a different investment platform. Rachel also moved an old private pension onto the platform, is reviewing my current work pension and will advise on how to improve performance.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. We have moved to a cheaper platform that is outperforming the old platform. Investments & pensions are growing.

What could they have done better?

Nothing.

My husband died and I needed financial advice.

How has Rachel Picker helped you?

Rachel showed real empathy towards myself in what were difficult circumstances. She helped me move my husband's personal pension to an equivalent one in my name. She also gave me the advice I needed to consolidate other savings.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. My finances are much more straightforward to manage and I have confidence for the future.

What could they have done better?

Rachel's approach was just right for me. I couldn't have asked for more.

I had what seemed like complicated financial circumstances. Savings, retirement planning, power of attorney for my husband, his long term care and ultimately financial planning following his death.

How has Rachel Picker helped you?

Rachel broke each part of it down into chunks, and met with me regularly (at times to suit me) to provide advice and help me through each part of the jigsaw.

It is still early days in terms of returns, but definitely in terms of providing sound financial advice and sorting it all out.

Rachel is very friendly and approachable and advised me on my current pensions and finances. She was extremely informative and professional, explaining everything clearly and thoroughly. In particular, I liked her holistic approach to financial planning, taking into account not only my personal circumstances, but the current and future needs of my family. I would definitely recommend Rachel to anyone considering using a financial adviser.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have a number of pensions that I wished to combine and wanted them combined onto a single platform in advance of my retirement.

How has Rachel Picker helped you?

Rachel gave advice on the options available and which was the most efficient method to draw down pension in my retirement

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is still work in progress as the pensions are being released by my current providers and combined on the single platform but so far so good.

What could they have done better?

Nothing as I have had regular communication and updates and I was in no hurry as my target retirement date is 1/04/22 and everything should be in place for then.

She took over my portfolio and soon understood what were the aims

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I was unhappy at being moved without reference by the various management moves at Lighthouse and somewhat unhappy that I was obl9ghed to incur charges through not action of my own.

What could they have done better?

Rachel proved to be both amiable and competent and spent as much time as was needed to understand my objectives and we have settled into an agreeable relationship.

How has Rachel Picker helped you?

Rachel Picker looks after my insurances and other financial requirements where we need specialist advise. The service has been faultless from the start and we have always felt comfortable that the advice given is based on what is best for me, our needs are always listened to and everything is clearly explained in manner which is simple to understand. Rachel has always called & emailed when promised and is always free to answer questions when we call, we are really pleased with the service so far and will continue to use Rachel for all our financial needs. Highly recommended.

I cannot point to anything currently, but if there is anything moving forwards I will ensure Rachel is given this directly.

How has Rachel Picker helped you?

Rachel listened to our thoughts on investments and savings and our concerns about the risks of investments, she worked out a balance between available money, savings and investments. She provided us with different options of risks and explained each one to us and agreed with our decision. She is always contactable and visits annually to discuss the investments. I was experiencing problems with online access to my account but she sorted this problem out for me. Rachel explained the fees and charges to us from the start and has given honest and professional advice.

What could they have done better?

We have not had any problems at all and cannot suggest any areas of improvement at this time.

Rachel worked with both myself and my husband. She understood our situation I.e. My husband is "very cautious" and I am "less cautious and more adventurous". She went through all the aspects according to our individual needs and gave us excellent advice. My husbands account were neat and tidy but mine were scattered. She pulled them all together and tidied them up. She is a very pleasant lady and extremely good at her job.

What could they have done better?

For me personally, she did everything to my highest expectations.
