When I first went to Debbie I was a first time buyer, quite overwhelmed by all the information to digest and stuck not knowing which direction to choose. I was looking for someone patient, knowledgeable and with integrity.

How has Deborah Whittaker helped you?

Debbie provided detailed advice, laid out all of the options for me, took the time to ensure I understood the various options and avenues. I felt empowered to make a decision with all of the information presented to me. I got a 5 year deal, that I feel lucky to have secured at the time. I found the guidance so useful that when it came to re-mortgage for a house move, it was a no brainer to go back to Debbie. She helped me to port the mortgage, and made it stress free.

Yes! I got a brilliant deal the first time around, and then got to port it when I moved. Also, I met someone whose integrity I trust, and who takes the time to explain the various options.

Nothing in my view. That's why I went back to Debbie and will again.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was looking initially to see how much I could access in a mortgage. As a company Director this is not as easy as a standard mortgage process but Debbie took me through the process seamlessly, quickly and with good humour. Following this, when i had found a home I wanted to get a mortgage on - Grade II listed, a bit of wreck but Debbie worked with me rapidly to get the outcome I needed.

How has Deborah Whittaker helped you?

Debbie acted as my broker for the mortgage, communicating directly with the bank's underwriters arguing my case for the mortgage level i needed. This has not been straightforward and Debbie has remained positive and pushing for the outcome I needed throughout.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. I had an absolute nightmare with my accountants trying to get a basic mortgage reference, which Debbie supported me and pushed them - this resulted in me getting 25% more in mortgage value than the original number the underwriters came up with. I could never have done this myself, which would have resulted in a smaller mortgage and ultimately perhaps jeopardised the purchase.

What could they have done better?

Nothing.

We had such a fantastic experience with Deborah, helping us to find the perfect affordable mortgage to buy our house. When our first purchase didn't work out she was there, at short notice, to find us an even better deal for our next attempt. Thankfully that all worked out and, two weeks on, our first mortgage payment went through smoothly and we are very happy in our new home. We don't think we'll be needing a new mortgage advisor for a little while but when we do we'll be going back for Deborah's advice.

With one of us being self employed, (and both being total novices with buying/mortgages), we needed guidance and advice with what we could borrow. Debbie helped us out with a lot of general information too - really helped ease the 'stressfulness' the mortgage application can have. Her information was to the point and honest, which is exactly what you want with an advisor and it was just really nice to have such a friendly voice on the other side of the phone.

As first time buyers the entire process of buying a house was some what daunting, we had no idea where to start, what our options where or if we could even afford to buy a house in the COVID climate. Debbie's approachable and friendly manor immediately made us feel at ease, she took the time to explain our options to get the best solution for our personal circumstances and how each of the process would work. My girlfriend and I were looking for a mortgage on our first house.

How has Deborah Whittaker helped you?

Deborah was brilliant from start to finish, she initially discussed what the different options we could do with the pot of money we had and what interest rates would look like depending on the % of the deposit we put down on a property, with Deborah guiding us through the whole finanical process. This gave us great insight and lead us to buy our perfect first home. The estate agent was rather difficult and pressured us on a quick completion, even though it was often the vendors holding up the process and Deborah offered to talk to the estate agent on our behalf which really gave us a sense of security. We really couldn't fault Debroah at all, her efficiency and responsiveness were excellent; often working into the evening for us and would even be at the end of the phone on the weekends.

We definitely reached the outcome we were looking for and look forward to working with Deborah again in the future.
