Carl went through the process with us step-by-step. Looking at different lengths of fix, length of mortgage, rates etc. He was great at explaining it to us in layman's terms. Once we had decided on the lender Carl was with us every step of the way, checking in with us on how things were going with the solicitor etc. When we receive a worrying message from the supplier Carl was straight on to it and resolved it for us quickly. I was going through a divorce and I had to remove my x husband off the deeds of the mortgage and reapply for a mortgage on my own.

Carl did his research and found me the best deal . As my salary is mainly dividends most lenders would not accept my dividends as a income . Carl found a lender who would support me and got me a great deal . Without Carl getting me a mortgage I would of had to sell my house so he helped me to keep a roof over mine and my childrens heads .

My husband and I were first-time buyers and I am a foreign national on a spouse visa. In the initial part of our search, we wanted a mortgage agreement in principle. When we found the property we wanted to buy, we needed the right mortgage deal that would accept my residence status and be good value.

How has Carl Elsby helped you?

We found Carl on vouchedfor. I got in touch with him via email initially. He immediately responded and arranged to phone me at a time that was convenient. I appreciated his flexibility with hours - since we both work full-time, I was grateful that he could see us on weekday evenings after 6 as well as on Saturday mornings. Carl obtained a mortgage agreement in principle for us very quickly - finding a lender based on our income, needs and my visa status. When we were ready to make a full mortgage application he checked all the products once again to ensure we were still getting the best deal, and efficiently completed our application. Importantly, Carl appreciated our position as first-time buyers and thoroughly explained the types of mortgages to us. He helped us choose a suitable deal that allowed us to add the mortgage fee to the loan, included cashback and a valuation, and was the right type for our needs. Carl also helped us find an excellent solicitors firm for the conveyancing which was on the mortgage lender's panel. All the while, Carl was warm, kind, and patient with our questions and an absolute pleasure to deal with.

We successfully received a mortgage offer with no problems. Having just completed the purchase on our property, we are sure that the mortgage deal that Carl found for us was the right one.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have a very busy lifestyle and limited time to arrange a mortgage. I have used Motgage advisors in the past, but none compare to the level of service and speed Carl deals with things.

How has Carl Elsby helped you?

Carl got me the best deal. After looking on the net I could not find one that compared more favourably than the deal Carl got me. He dealt with everything from start to finish requiring very little of my time.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I got a better outcome than expected. The service Carl provided was worth every penny and I would highly recommend him. I will be using the service from now on for all my financial needs.

What could they have done better?

Absolutely nothing can be improved from my point of view. Credit also goes to Carl's assistant Jill who handles everything excellently when Carl is unavailable.

Very professional,, friendly & extremely helpful. Explained everything in plain English & made whole 'mortgage' experience painless & a lot quicker than an individual building society interview! Then took over all organising & helped with paperwork from all legal/conveyancing people. Always there on the end of the phone for advice.
