What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I work as a surgical registrar in the East Midlands. I had received several letters from HMRC with various issues regarding fines for income tax errors. I am supposed to be taxed at source by my employer (a hospital) but it had appeared there were a few issues and errors made with both income tax and national insurance contributions. I needed a trustworthy accountant who would help me appeal these fines and resolve my tax issues that had built up over several years and recover the money I had lost from incorrect tax codes. I had received a few word of mouth recommendation about Wayne/Prime Accounts from my builder friend and my sister who both use him (and speak highly of him) so I got in touch.

I underwent a consultation and we discussed my problems. I provided him with all my financial details, which was simple.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Absolutely fabulous. I received over TEN THOUSAND pounds back which was way more than I expected or hoped for!! I cannot be happier. Wayne was a great chap who was helpful and easy to deal with and above all competent. I am a 100% genuinely satisfied customer.

What could they have done better?

Wish I had gone to him earlier.

We just had a quick chat about my tax situation. He reassured me that I probably would not have to pay much CGT if I sold my former home and said he would be happy to advise further if I needed help in future.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

We have had several accountants over the past twenty years - ranging from inefficient to very expensive. Efficiency had little to do with price. We decided to seek out an accountant via the internet - and found Wayne Plaister and have not looked back since.

How has Wayne Plaister helped you?

He prepares our annual company accounts - and gives advice at no additional charge.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Wayne does not pretend he will increase our turnover or increase our business - he does what he says on the tin - on time - at the price quoted.

What could they have done better?

I have no suggestions - He has steadily been improving his service (we have used Wayne since 2010) and have always been very happy with his service.

to finalise VAT returns a week or two before payment is due.. I have on a few occassons only just managed to pay on the day it was due which is fine if i'm in town but as a travelling musician I could well be out of the country/

Wayne was recommended to me by a mutual acquaintance when i needed to form a LTD company for the first time.

Wayne was an invaluable guide to me throughout the whole process. Forming the company, registering for VAT and setting a up a company bank account. We purchased our business in 2008 and took on the sellers accountant to continue the accountancy service, however we quickly found that his service was not to our standard and found Prime Accounts Ltd online. Wayne has a calming and professional approach to tackling everyday accounting issues as well as complicated tax issues. My previous accountant retired and so I needed a new one and wanted one locally and that I can speak with when needed.

Have has help me with personal allowances, car and vehicles and also set up and administers my Payroll. Wayne has also assisted me in reconciling my bank account with my books when needed. All types of work that Wayne has done, he has explained in understandable terms and for me, has given good advice.

What could they have done better?

I would have said send regular mailshot of interesting articles and news but Wayne has recently started doing this and some of them are relevant and interesting. Perhaps some articles aimed at how a smaller (micro?) business can save money would be useful too.
