I started my own business 330 years ago and have had several accountants. I have used Taylor Roberts for approximately 10 years.

Peter has helped on numerous occasions providing sensible, constructive advice.

My company is progressing nicely and I have no complaints regarding the advice Peter has given me over the years.

Peter provides a very good comprehensive service and always makes himself available should I have any questions regarding my accounts etc

I needed to complete a self assessment return and because I had more than one income stream I preferred to have someone to prepare my accounts for me.

How has Peter Taylor helped you?

He has been fantastic and provided very timely and efficient advice. He identified a number of ways to reduce my overall tax bill and is always happy to speak with me to answer any queries.

i am still partly self enjoyed and employed and I'm more than happy with my current situation.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I've had a very small part time business from when I gave up full time self employment, many years ago. and had been using a very expensive accountant in the nearby city centre. This was ok while it was full time, but on my part time earnings it was getting silly. So much so that I went 4 or 5 years ignoring the SA returns from HMRC (I know, stupid), to avoid the accountant's fees... but the fines started to add up until they were well into four figures.

How has Peter Taylor helped you?

So, I had to find someone to get me out of the mess I was in... and along came Taylor Roberts. I was expecting a right rollicking on my first visit, but Peter talked me through it, took my gibberish figures and managed to get me back on the 'straight and narrow'. I'm sure he was thinking 'what a prat' but he didn't show it. I'm also very guilty of being 'a last minute' person but Peter still gets me out of it. My accounts are probably some of the smallest Taylor Roberts deal with but both Peter & Mike treat me the same as I'm sure they treat the millionaires!.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The waters are calm now, but I must stop abusing Peter's patience and get my figures in earlier!.

What could they have done better?

Not a thing... he got me out a hole in a very professional manner.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I started my business, initially with only myself employed, then started to take on extra employees as the business expanded and needed an accountant to handle my tax returns both business and personal and also to issue my wage slips etc.

How has Peter Taylor helped you?

Taylor Roberts been dealing with my company since I started my business Flawless Cleaning Co several years ago. Throughout that time the service I have received has been excellent; dealing with all my day to day payroll for staff and my end of year accounts as well as my personal tax affairs. Both Mike and Peter are always there to advise and sort out any financial problems and both are personable and friendly and I would recommend their services to any business either large or small.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely!.

What could they have done better?

Really, my accountants have done all that is required, efficiently and I feel I could not have got a better service anywhere. So there is nothing i could really suggest to improve as I have always been extremely happy with the service.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Myself and two other had decided to form a company, Elizabeth Senior Care Limited, caring for the elderly in our area and went through the usual procedures ie registering with Companies House, Joining a local bank and looking for a reputable accountancy firm to work on our behalf, Taylor Roberts was recommended by our contact at the bank.

How has Peter Taylor helped you?

He was responsible for the setting up of our accounting system, taking us through all aspects of everyday accounting, giving advice daily as and when we need it and is always on the other end of a telephone when we need his expertise. He prepares and produces our year end Accounts, produces papers on how to manage our costs and advises how better to run our business from an accounts view.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We have now been trading for nearly six years and the advice given by Taylor Roberts has been invaluable and until recently our profits have been steadily rising year on year. This questionnaire could not have come at a better time as just this past few months our profits have been decreasing quite alarmingly. We had a very informal meeting with Taylor Roberts who pointed out this problem which caused us to look carefully at our in-house operations and we have identified the problem and it will be addressed immediately. Working on our on without their help I doubt very much if we would have realised the seriousness of our situation.

What could they have done better?

As I have pointed out above, our accountants are second to none. One of the most important aspects I feel personally, is that they are so approachable. I often ring several times a week with what I'm sure they think very simple questions and solutions but they never make me feel I am imposing on them and they always listen and give constructive advice, very often taking over my problem and sorting it for me but always letting me know where I went wrong.

I wasn't looking for an accountant I had already used Taylor Roberts for a previous business.

When I was changing over from a sole trader to a Ltd Co Peter provided excellent information and advice re tax / vat and the benefits of dividend payments from the company profits.

Its early days as the Ltd business but I have no doubt that the advice provided will prove very beneficial.

What could they have done better?

In my circumstances I cannot think of anything that I was unhappy with.

Taking the next step with my business was to look for an accountant.I did what most customer do look for an accountant who could speak to me at my level of understanding give me sound advice in areas that effect my business tax implications etc. I needex to feel that I could approach my account for answers to those little questions without being my to feel foolish.

Peter Taylor ticked all my question boxes, I have been guided thought the development of my business in tax term and been given sound advice in relation to the ongoing changes in the buy to let market.

The senior gentleman we used for all our accountancy services retired. We therefore had to look for a new accountant .
