What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I had been very badly let down by my previous accountants which led to potential problems with HMRC. So I had lost faith in Accountants but was also in need of a good one.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Mike stepped in and advised me regarding the existing problem with HMRC, which has now been successfully closed. At the same time Mike set up my Limited Company and runs the bookkeeping as well as deals with the annual accounts, my personal and corporation tax.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Very much. The previous situation with HMRC, caused by my previous accountants failure in their duty, has been resolved. I can now concentrate on running and developing my business knowing that Mike and Andrew are there doing the bookkeeping, tax, VAT etc and advising me on a monthly basis.

What could they have done better?

I don't think that Mike or Andrew could do anything better. They are easily approachable and respond to emails or phonecalls quickly.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Poor service from my previously appointed accountant with unclear costs that tended to grow and expand without clear reason, lead me to Mikes Services .

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Mike explained his service and costs, he picked up the mess left from my previous service provider and sorted it all for me.

Mike and Andy have proven to be a delight, so very helpful and professional yet approachable.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

My previous accountant made a number of errors - so I needed to find a reliable and knowledgeable accountant.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Mike spent considerable time and effort to rectify the mistakes made my previous accountant. He provided further advice and made my tax affairs stress free.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, my tax, NI. capital gains and pension affairs are now much easier to understand. All submissions are accurate, on time and efficient.

What could they have done better?

In a word, nothing - Mike is always helpful and available. Nothing is too much trouble

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I first engaged Mike when I was starting my own limited company a number of years ago.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Mike formed my company, advised me on efficient salary and dividend use, prepared my busines accounts, did my personal tax and advised me on various aspects of the business including expenses and allowances, IR35, company vehicles and others. He's always been incredibly efficient, turning around information that I've sent him into my accounts and docs in a very short timescale, usually just a few days. He's always repsonded to correspondence quickly and has always been at the end of the phone if I've ever needed any advice.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

we were a start up business 7 years ago but soon realised the necessity for external FINANCIAL advise and support. Whilst we were confident with our own business acumen we accepted the need for more than just an auditor but needed the input on pensions, taxation, shareholdings and regulatory procedures.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

His prime asset, besides his undoubted financial knowledge , is that his response to any query is spontaneous and helpful. He is always approachable by phone or text and i know that if i need an answer to any business query , it is there on demand.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely The meeting at Audit time produces a Planning strategy for the coming year. We receive a personal service that would not be possible with a larger firm.

I do not know, is the simple answer, as i would not use any professional person unless i was totally happy with the service provided

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

From conversations with friends who are also self employed I began to realise that there were several things/ areas that i was not claiming for in my tax return that an accountant would be able to help me with and save me some money.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Almost exactly as i have described above. He was very quick in coming round to see me and talking about the nature of my business and showing me things that i wasn't claiming for in a way that i could easily understand.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely and i feel very relieved that i now have someone to help and advise me in the future.

What could they have done better?

I really can't think of anything especially as he was very quick in coming round to me and processing my tax return.

I wasn't satisfied with my accountant at the time - I required an accountant with more knowledge.

How has Mike Coombs helped you?

Myself and my business partner met with Mike and explained to him what we were looking for. Mike thoroughly explained his opinion of the assistance he thought we needed and what it would cost (which is very reasonable) - He has helped us a great deal over the past years with monthly payroll, end of year accounts, problems I have encountered with the HMRC, reports and forecasts that I have required for tender purposes, the setting up of a pension and every day financial queries.

Yes, we are very satisfied with Mike as our accountant. He has delivered and achieved everything that he advised in the outset.

After my original accountant proved unfit for purpose I needed an accountant who understood the finances and NHS payments involved in the running of a pharmacy.

Large annual price increase from previous accountant and we were looking for an accountant that would work with our book keeping software. (Sage).

Following a price increase from our previous accountants we decided to seek a new accountant and we were recommended Kings Oak Accountancy Services by another very satisfied customer of their's. Our only regret is not using them years ago. They has just completed our year end accounts and it has reduced my stress and work load massively compared to previous years. It's a very friendly, personal service where they come to your place of work and use the systems you have in place. The work is completed very promptly and efficiently.
