My two favorite sayings I am told are: "if you save two minutes a day, every day, that is 10 hours in a year. Lets streamline your processes, I bet we can get you at least a week back. who said you couldn't buy more time" and "A HMRC manual is an interpretation, fortunately tax legislation is a little easier to understand than an IKEA furniture build so you can put that HMRC manual down now and go direct to the source please" I have been a practicing accountant since 2009 working in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector whilst working in both smaller and larger accounting firms. Something inside me just has the urge for more knowledge to help my clients become better at what they do in the most legally tax efficient way, whilst training the next generation of my firm. All this while using the best technology to save our clients hours a year and gain unknown insights from the data they didn't even know they had. I am currently a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), currently in the process of becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants In England and Wales (ICAEW), whilst studying towards the Chartered Tax Advisers qualification (CTA) on school nights. I simply want the paper to go with the knowledge. I set out early in my career to understand every aspect of accounting and UK tax legislation. I have also been very fortunate in my career to have had the chance to work with some very senior and knowledgeable tax specialists. I would say the best gift I have gained along my journey is how to read and interpret Tax Acts in the UK to deliver exceptional and bespoke tax planning to both businesses and individuals, covering all areas of taxation. My client base ranges from sole traders and new company start ups to clients with assets in excess of £100 million. I work with many clients across the board, even being part of the growth journey for many of my larger clients. That's always rewarding for me. Having been an Operations Director for a multi site small firm, I made the decision that I had seen enough of what the market had to offer. So I formed my own firm Cutts and Company Limited, after all carrying your own flag, values and vision is so rewarding when you give the attention for your own business to others. Essentially a great accountant becomes a partner to rely on. The main reason I do this is because I love it, it's the little changes that make the biggest difference.
