When you are someone who is not financially minded and gets a little lost in the detail Tom is the person to help you understand in clear simple terms.

The outcome so far, considering recent past factors, has been very positive and the future is looking favourable. I feel with Tom more confident in where my pension is heading and trust him to continue managing my funds into the future.

Nothing really. Feel comfortable with progress made, trust Tom and his team to manage my portfolio and I know should things change Tom will be there to help.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I'm an existing client and introducer to IP

How has Tom Bostock helped you?

Taken over the servicing of my existing IP account and he is a really nice professional adviser, with a great mannerism.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, pretty much, though I am not overly impressed with the growth over the years that I have invested with IP. Especially, when I speak with IFA friends who quote bigger gains. This of course has no bearing on Tom who relies on the different block investment choice made by IP.

What could they have done better?

I would have liked more individual specialised and focused advice, as I believe some IFA practices operate?, but not sure that this exists anymore. Think it is all pretty tick box stuff nowadays and you get placed in a certain category of funds.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was retiring and needed a company that could take my SIPP, link it to a drawdown service, and to offer accompanying financial advice.

How has Tom Bostock helped you?

Tom is my third adviser since I transferred my SIPP, via Intelligent Pensions in 2016, because the two previous advisers retired. Tom was up to speed very quickly with my circumstances and although we have not met face-to-face the on-line meetings we've had have been excellent. I am particularly impressed with the presentations he prepares, they are clear and coherent and a useful reference that I can access via the IP Portal.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

In general yes, the ups and downs of the portfolio's value are in line with how I responded to the questions related to by attitude to risk. I check the Nucleus (James Hay) portal regularly to see the value of the SIPP and I am fortunate to be in position that if the value drops it is not a huge worry and thus I am not challenging the situation.

What could they have done better?

With regards to financial advice not too much. Some training on the IP portal, to maximise the benefit of the system to both myself and Tom, would have been helpful. I felt I was working blind and not getting the most out of the system.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Tom has, I think, inherited the clients formerly managed by Tim Semmence, an agent of Intelligent Pensions with whom I had a relationship from the early 2000s. He has been very helpful and courteous, and has taken over seamlessly, despite the problems generated by the pandemic. As a non-expert in these matters, I am not sure what the performance of my pension pot should have looked like, but it certainly has not (thanks to the international financial crisis, etc) conformed to the elegant, computerised graphics that were projected at the beginning of my pension planning 20 years ago! I am happy to continue to receive advice from Tom and IP.

I was initially advised by my Accountant around 20 years ago that I should set up a pension and he put me in contact with Intelligent Pensions

Tom has always listened to my requests re my pension and gives me great advice on what I should do. I find the zoom meetings with him are invaluable as he goes over all aspects of my pension and savings pointing out the direction I should take.
