What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

As a retired couple we sought advice on maintaining and enhancing the value of our investments/ savings.

We have. Our investments have regained their pre Covid value and we continue to be optimistic about further growth.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We have known Rupert (and Sarah) for a number of years, and have always found their advice useful, since they started working independently we found that their advice has become invaluable.

How has Rupert Barlow helped you?

Rupert has taken over working with our investments and pensions, as they were under performing with our previous management team. The turn around has been dramatic and previous poor performance has suddenly completely turned around, while I understand that there’s been an improvement in the market, I feel that the main change has been due to the advice we were given by Rupert and Sarah.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, the improvement in our financial position has been very noticeable.

What could they have done better?

I don’t think that there is anything that they could have done better, they even visited us in our new home (about 80 miles further away), to make sure we were happy with their advice.

I had 2 conversations with the government agency whose advice was to do what l thought best with my pension pots.

I was gifted some money and didn't know how best to invest it.

How has Rupert Barlow helped you?

Rupert has helped me to understand how to understand and manage my finances, for now and the future. He has also done all the hard work of bringing two modest pensions together and investing them with better options for my retirement when it comes.

The outcome has been more positive than I'd hoped for, especially in this economic climate.

They couldn't have done anything better for me.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having had a change in my employment status, moving from employed to self employed, I needed an adviser to review my retirement plans to ensure that I am in an appropriate fund with a robust strategy in order to keep me on track for retirement. It was also important to have someone who could review these plans on a regular basis, keep on top of any change in legislation and make changes where necessary.

How has Rupert Barlow helped you?

Rupert has given me peace of mind to know that there is someone that I trust looking after finances. He has been able to choose a fund for me that meets objectives and is currently providing a better return that my previous fund. He has also been able to produce some useful projections to show what i should be paying into my pension to make sure I can retire when I want to retire.

Yes, so far I've been really pleased.

What could they have done better?

Nothing that I can think of, nothing was too much trouble.
