When I arrived for my appointment I was immediately put at ease by Michael who explained exactly what the interview would entail. He explained everything very clearly and made sure I understood everything he was saying. He answered all queries I had clearly. Michael met my husband and I to discuss our financial plans for retirement. In particular he was looking at how best I could achieve a more sustainable work-life balance leading up to retirement. Michael was mannerly and knowledgeable. After assessing our needs and wishes he advised us on a number of options which we are now considering. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I intend to take early retirement from teaching in June and needed advice and guidance about pensions etc .

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Figures were available for me to see and take home to help me make decisions .

Please provide a brief comment about your experience with Michael

I availed of the complimentary consultation with Michael after I had attended the pre-retirement webinar through my work. He took me through the NILGOSC my online pension and explained well anything I was not sure of. He simplified things so I could have a clearer understanding in order to make a decision about my pension and possible early retirement. He sent me an income and expenditure form which I can tailor for my own needs. I found the meeting with Michael very helpful and easy to understand.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advice on planning my retirement.

How has Michael Geddis helped you?

Michael explained what my annual pension statement meant. Using a calculator,he was able to show me predicted pension figures for the next two years. He explained the importance of looking at my expenditure to see if the pension I might receive would be adequate for my needs.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I have now a more realistic idea of what my pension income may be and I have a better idea now how to plan for retirement.
