Please provide a brief comment about your experience with Robert

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Robert. We had a couple of queries to run through with him around pensions and more importantly our daughter's future financial security and he gave SUCH helpful and practical advice, really getting to the heart of the issues and decisions we and she should be thinking about. There is never any pressure to buy products or services from the Stringer Mann portfolio and, in this sense, it genuinely feels like Robert has one's best interests at heart. Oh and he's a thoroughly nice chap, which helps! P.S. we are not investors with a bunch of cash sitting around - just an ordinary working family, trying to plan a little. And Robert makes us feel very comfortable with that fact. You don't have to be wealthy to get sound financial advice. In fact, probably all the more reason to go and see him if you're not!

I was sadly widowed at a relatively early age. Robert had been our financial advisor for some years already and I felt comfortable to continue receiving financial advice from him after my late husband had passed away.

Robert has provided sound counsel and advice in all areas of financial planning and management of pension funds. In times of recent turbulence in the markets the returns have been very satisfactory. He was also invaluable in dealing with all my various pensions during my divorce and producing an equitable sharing solution which was accepted by both parties without question. Robert is very easy to get on with and always makes sure you understand what's happening.

Initially for mortgage and pensions then as retirement approached how best to plan for that.

How has Robert Stringer helped you?

I have known Robert for many years but the requirement for detailed help increased with retirement. This coincided with a divorce and Robert determined the best split of the various pension pots and provided the necessary detail to solicitors. Since then he has managed the funds in a highly uncertain economic situation to provide solid returns. From the start Robert always ensures that I understand the process and fee structure. He takes time to work through the appropriate risk structure for my needs and we regularly review these.

I had a number of pension schemes under various work plans and wanted to bring them together under one banner

How has Robert Stringer helped you?

Robert has managed the transistion from many to one for my varied work schemes, making the mangement of the schemes easier and more stream lined. Robert has also provide much needed advise regarding one other pension, a final salary one where we have left the pension alone anbd not brought it into the combined pot. The advise esp around the final salary one has been invaluable for someone such as myself with little pensions knowledge. Robert has explained the process, the way the company handle the management of the funds and how the charges are calculated in a way that I can understand and take on board.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, I think so. The funds are actively managed and this is important to me, the pot is growing and Robert has explained the trends in the market and how events effect the market as a whole but how the trend is always upwards in the long term. One of the main important factors is to have someone who is contactable and approachable to be able to speak to and discuss concerns. Robert definitely falls into this category and has been brilliant with his advise and supoprt.

Robert is the only financial advisor I have ever used, ever since my first mortgage around 25 years ago.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Over the years, my wife and I had money accumulated from savings, pensions and some inheritance and wanted that money to work for us rather than languishing in standard 'high street' institutions with low interest returns.

How has Robert Stringer helped you?

Robert suggested a portfolio of investments, splitting our monies on a 50/50 basis and taking into account our attitude to risk which was very well explained. Robert also pointed out that such investments can go down as well as up but if we were 'in it for the long term' (which we were), then the values should show a positive return..........and they have done, despite the pandemic being a 'minor obstacle' for a short while!

Yes - a healthy return on our investments.
