We had various pensions and life policies and were unsure of the benefits of any of them. Also our mortgage needed to be looked at We needed someone to look at them all, our current and future circumstances and make an informed plan going forward. Also we were looking at freeing up cash on a monthly basis.

I wanted to retire and was not sure what the best route was as I and my wife have a number of pensions from different jobs. I tried a couple of firms but some of the advice seemed to benefit them more than us. We were recommended to IPFM by a friend and went for an initial meet and still there now.

How has Charlotte Gibbon helped you?

Charlotte listened to our situation and then advised what she thought was the best course of action based on our needs and risk position. This included challenging some ore-conceived ideas that we went in with, explaining how ours would impact our long term future pension and how hers could give a better outcome.

In certain parts of the portfolio definitely. We have changed a couple after about 3 years as there were better performing funds available to invest in. Overall, despite the impacts that have hit locally and globally over the last 2-3 years and continue to we have seen a gain in the portfolio higher than we expected given the current circumstances.

Not a lot. We hade been to Pension Wise and got their guidance and thought we had a plan. It was only through engaging with Charlotte that we were able to improve this and see better outcomes.

If you are anything like me, then you may have had numerous pensions lying around and took a head in the sand attitude to them until you reached a certain age. Understanding them and potentially consolidating them so that they were easier to manage was a crucial factor in seeking the help of an expert.
