Unfortunately my parents passed away and therefore I inherited both property and money
How has Steve Crowe helped you?
I appointed Steve as the executor and he did everything (effectively and efficiently) that comes with this responsibility. Once probate had been granted and the funds had come through, we then had a few meetings to understand and agree how best to invest the money. Since the investments have occurred, Steve has been on hand to answer any queries that I have.

Steve responded super quick to my enquiry sent via this site. Received a phone call the same day and I met with Steve in person within 2 days. Steve was very helpful regarding some inheritance tax and probate forms which he helped me complete and he is continuing to help me with my late fathers pensions. Steve is knowledgeable, friendly, quick to respond to queries and goes out of his way to help. His personal assistant Emma was welcoming, friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend Steve and his company.

I worked in the insurance industry all my working life. For the most part I worked as a technical manager in Life and Savings and Investments. I had little involvement with Pensions. On retirement I needed advice on bringing together pension pots from a number of companies and how best to collate and draw down from them. On many occasions previously I had been involved with Steve regarding other clients of his and was always impressed by the way he approached the advice he was putting together for them.

More than a two decades ago I returned to the UK from mainland Europe. The experience of having my bank managemy financia affairs in the UK while I was overseas was less good than it should have been.

What is essential in such circumstances is to a) have good, reliable and impartial advice, b) to have the opportunities to discuss and understand that advice, and then c) to have the resulting decision and its actions implemented efficiently and well. I had recently retired from the NHS and needed help and advice on investing my lump sum and other savings that I had, in order to provide an adequate income for my future. I was totally ignorant about Stock Markets and very dubious about investing. Finally after a recommendation from a long standing client of Steves, I tentatively agreed to consider this option.
How has Steve Crowe helped you?
Initially a member of his team interviewed me, to discuss investments. Every issue was simply explained, step by step,and my attitude to risk was also assessed. My questions, however mundane, were all answered satisfactorily. There was no pressure whatsoever and I was very reassured by their approach . They just needed to thoroughly understand my situation, to enable them to provide for me the best plan to suit my needs in retirement.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes, I have been extremely satisfied over the past 10 years with the overall outcome of my investments with Ribble Wealth. Obviously investments should be viewed as long term, so hopefully we can expect an upward turn and improvement in the near future, following the unprecedented situation currently affecting the whole world.
What could they have done better?
I honestly cannot suggest any ideas that may be implemented to improve what I feel is already an above average level of service. I have always been completely satisfied with all methods of communication, and their efficiency and professionalism.

Having accepted an early retirement settlement five years before my expected retirement age, I wished to use this settlement. together with my existing investments, in a way that would help me to maintain, or improve, my standard of living.

He carried out a very thorough review and analysis of my circumstances, wishes, expectations and attitude to risk. Based on this review, he presented me with a proposal for a range of suitable investments. This process of revue and analysis has not just been a one off event, but has been carried out periodically to allow adjustment for changes over time. Outside this process Steve has also made proposals to switch investments in cases where under performance is indicated.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
In general, the outcomes have been far better than I was hoping for. Of course, there has been fluctuations over the years and in some cases the outcomes have been less beneficial. However, overall performance has been very good.

It was initially my mother who commissioned Steve to look after her finances and he did so very effectively for about 20 years. Further to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, I, having Power of Attorney, continued to use Steve for the same purposes in line with my mother's previous wishes. As my mother was now using residential care services, Steve also advised as to the best way to ensure care home fees could be accessed whilst continuing to advise on and manage the rest of my mother's finances.

Steve has offered us advice and guidance over a number of financial issues. Advice on investments and returns (the risk against return). My father set up trusts for my two children -Steve was prepared to manage their trust funds as requested by my late father. My eldest son is autistic and therefore the investment of his inheritance is vital for his future. We asked Steve to manage this and he accepted our request - he saw it as an opportunity to develop his business....an exciting challenge.

I retired from employment in the financial services industry some years ago having accrued pension benefits with 3 former employers but chose not to vest them at that time. Steve Crowe and his agent John Nixon helped me with set up a SIPP for my retirement and for many years before that, recommended how best to get the most out of the capital both me and my wife had available.

The answer has to be yes. We have seen growth in our capital and taken a regular monthly income to supplement our pensions. There are regular reviews which help us agree the level of risk to update our financial circumstances.

Not sure, but electronic communications of 'triggered movement / decisions' of equity etc. may be useful on both sides, although postal communication is still fine by me, since my mother has to be notified as well.

In 1988 I had retired from work and I had a small lump sum to invest and needed advice as I wanted it to make some money over the years.
How has Steve Crowe helped you?
I saw a different adviser in 1988 and Steve joined the firm later and he has given me good advice since. He explains everything to me and always makes sure I know what risks are involved. When I have a review I see him and we go through all my assets, income and expenditure and we decide what I want for the future. I always get a written report from him later that goes through everything we have discussed and agreed and I can refer back to this if I need to. He is very thorough. If I have any queries about anything I can send him an email and he always replies almost immediately. I feel that he knows me and I know him and I also trust him.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes. I wanted my money to grow and it has certainly done that. I have been happy with everything that has been recommended. Obviously my needs have changed over the years. At first I was saving and now I am taking income. I hope my income will look after me for many years to come and if there is anything left for others that's good.
What could they have done better?
This is a difficult question and at the moment I cannot think of anything that I would want to change.

Steve Crowe was recommended to me be a colleague of my brothers 10 years ago after splitting with my husband and in possession of a payout from a commuted pension that was going nowhere.

Steve Crowe advised me how to invest the existing cash and has continued to advise me after being made redundant, having a redundancy payout and how to get the best out of my occupational pensions.

I think with all financial advisers, to remember to speak in layman's terms and explain financial options as clearly and simply as possible.

Change of employment status from full-time employment to retirement based consultative work. Rebalancing of my financial portfolio. Advising on tax liability when liquidating some assets.

Personal (email and phone and face-to-face) discussion on different issues. Rational discussion of the reasons for changes including coniderable mutual discussion of numerical aspects which was unusually clear and well presented. Long term intermediate and short term perspectives wer all considered very carefully.

Yes without exception.
What could they have done better?
Almost nothing comes to mind. There is always a delay in activating what is agreed in financial affairs which has never been unreasonable, and if I take the perspective of the need for financial security as funds are moved, is entirely reasonable and also of course ultimatelyin the client's interests! Steve Crow and Ribblewealth have always been both efficient and as timely as possible in this respect.

Steve helps/helped me in the following ways: 1. Save money for a house deposit through Stocks & Shares ISA - this has since been completed. 2. Steve operates and regularly reviews my pension. 3. Steve advised that I obtain income protection insurance, which I have taken out due to his advice.
