What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Innitially we had a F/A, whom both my wife and I felt rather uncomfortable with. However, we said we would never make that mistake again as our gut reaction was correct and he was let go by his company and investigated by the authorities. It took us some time time to find a F/A whom my wife and I genuinely liked, and at the same time I had just received a settlement due to a RTC and we did not know what to do with the bulk of it. That was when we found Vincent, some 26'ish yrs ago.

How has Vincent Moran helped you?

Vincent took the time to listen to what both my wife and I wanted, long term. He looked at our current income and outgoings and advised both my wife and I as to what he felt was right for us, giving us options with numerous companies. We were never pressured at any time to go in a direction and was there from the start to explain everything that was happening. In all of these years with Vincent, we have never tried to second guess him and trust him explicity. During market wobbles Vincent has always contacted ourselves to reassure us both, and again his advice has always come to fruition. Vincent is always at hand via mobile, txt, email, voice, home tel number and always turns up when he says he will. Should he be five minutes or fifteen minutes late, he always lets you know. The key to any relationship is communication and we certainly get that with Vincent.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Naively and inexperienced of markets/bonds/investments etc. Innitially we thought everything increased from day one and we seen an innitial drop we were devastated. Once it was confirmed how it all works and knowing we did not need or wanted to touch any money until years on, we understood stocks etc are not an instant win/win but a timely increase. I can honestly say we are elated with our returns. We could increase our risk profile for higher, but we trust the profile Vincent has reccomended, and that is where we will stay.

What could they have done better?

After knowing, following and being with Vincent for more than a quater of a century, I personally wish he would not wear a tie everytime he visits. Ever a true professional, and a gentleman everytime he visits.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We needed to invest our money for the future; also the most tax efficient way of handing this on to our children.

How has Vincent Moran helped you?

He did a risk assessment and guided us towards a specific Fin Service organisation which is now managing our long term investments.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, the company Brewin Dolphin was not one I was aware of but they seem to be very professional and giving us a good return.

What could they have done better?

He was excellent & I would recommend him

due to early retirement we wanted to safeguard and invest our savings.

How has Vincent Moran helped you?

he advised us how to invest,having first explaining all options of risk from low investment to high risk .Vincent is always on call and very accessible which is important to us if we where to have any queries about our investments.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

obviously it depends on the markets at each time of the year.but yes of course Vincent keeps on track and always keeps us upto date if any investments need re tweaking.

What could they have done better?

in our view Vincent has been excellent.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Approaching retirement age in general and needing to invest monies from a house sale in particular.

Plenty of time spent reviewing my objectives, timescales and attitude to risk. Everything was clearly explained with appropriate time allowed for review. Happy with the final decisions.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The documentation provided was comprehensive, clearly explaining the costs breakdown and will also serve as a useful reference point in the future. The portal access is already proving a very useful feature to track investment progress. Happy with the decisions taken to date, but its still too early to judge whether the performance of the investments will actually materialise.

What could they have done better?

The personal approach has been much appreciated, in terms presentation style, frequency of meetings, preparation, clarity, availability and flexibility.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We were concerned that we didn’t know enough ourselves about the financial markets to invest our money effectively.

How has Vincent Moran helped you?

He took over our portfolio from a colleague (I think on the merger of two firms if I remember rightly). We had employed a financial adviser for many years prior to our retirement, but it was when we retired and had a large lump sum and other savings to invest, that Vincent really helped us and ensured that we understood what the implications were from the risk point of view. He has invested our capital wisely so that we can continue to travel widely and undertake improvements to our house without worrying about reducing the capital. So far, we have been able to enjoy 10 years of retirement free of financial worry and able to travel the world.
