What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I’d tried several times to define a retirement plan since retiring in 2020. A divorce and other life complications meant I never found an adviser I could truly trust, despite several attempts. My partner and I were both nearing retirement and had various financial queries that we wanted answers for and advice on. For example how could/should we amalgamate several work/private pensions; did we have enough savings to enable us to live the way we wanted to in retirement; and how best to manage our personal savings.
