Finding myself out of work with 3 years until state retirement age I wanted to ensure that my savings and pensions were working to help my situation.

How has Karen Gregory helped you?

Karen looked at our savings and pensions, listened to our views and made some recommendations. She arranged to increase our investment portfolio.

Too soon to say but early indications are good.

What could they have done better?

No. Karen is very friendly and approachable. She always has time to listen and explain things.

Approaching retirement my wife and I required assistance with the Pensions "minefield" and sought her advice.

How has Karen Gregory helped you?

After asking my wife and I what we needed from our retirement fund, Karen was able to advise on the route we should take with a great deal of assurance we were doing the right thing, with everything explained in straight forward "english". Afterall, it is our money.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are really delighted with the outcome.

What could they have done better?

Apart from having a cup of tea with us when she visited, Karen could not have done anything better.

Karen met with us within a few days of phoning her, she then sat down and discussed our options. She managed to find us a mortgage within 48 hours.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was moving from London to Somerset and at the same time received potentially life-shortening medical news. So I needed to move quickly on improving inheritance tax planning and Karen came to my attention through vouchedfor.

How has Karen Gregory helped you?

We explored a number of options and finally plumped for investment in an AIMS based product which attracted full IHT relief after only 2 years through Business Property Relief. This was a bit of a new market area at the time and Karen researched options, finally selecting a product which I approved. What I liked about Karen (and still do !) is that if she couldn't deal with a query immediately she would always go and find out quickly, and not just pass me off with a flannelled answer. She also always responds to phone calls and emails as fast as possible, which I definitely approve of.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I invested a substantial sum in the agreed product and this has kept its value in line with expectations over the first year. The real attraction is that I only need to survive another year and the whole amount is outside IHT. And the medics tell me I should definitely do that - good news for everybody ! I am happy with the advice and investment.

What could they have done better?

Actually it is quite hard to say. I think Karen would be honest enough to admit she doesn't know everything there is to know about everything financial, but as I said she will always go and find out. And she knows loads more than me so that's fine !

Coming up to retirement and looking for advice and information about financial planning.

How has Karen Gregory helped you?

She took comprehensive information about my circumstances, and hopes/plans for the future. She came back with lots of clear information and suggestions which we discussed at length. When I'd made my decision, she handled it all and came back tome with regular progress reports. She answered all my questions quickly and in ways I could understand.

I have retired, and invested my money as we agreed. I am very happy with the advice I received, and the outcomes.

I can't think of anything. Karen has been brilliant, and have recommended her to several friends and family members on the strength of my experience.
