After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 1989, Steve embarked on long term plans for world travel. Starting in Delhi and heading East, he took in most parts of Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Islands until money ran out in Los Angeles. On returning to the UK in the early 90s, at the height of a recession, Steve ‘fell’ into financial services, working for a small IFA practice in the West Country. After taking a few years to understand how not to run a business, Steve interviewed for a position as an IFA with the newly formed fee based Chartwell in 1996, specialising in Retirement and IHT planning. Steve remained there until 2011 when Chartwell was bought by an investment bank. Soon after Steve became a founding member and Investment Director of Brunel Capital Partners Limited. Steve is married to Pip with two boys, Cormac and Hamish and daughter, Madigan. Time outside work is divided between being a lifelong supporter of Bath Rugby and playing hockey for Reading HC.
