What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having experienced poor financial advice in the past, using both an independent and larger firm, I was looking for someone who offered a personal, focussed service, who I could openly speak to without feeling pressured or overwhelmed with unnecessary jargon.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was approaching retirement age and needed advice on what to do with some private pensions that I had accrued in the course of my working life along with a work based pension.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee helped me undertake a financial review and advised and guided me on whether to use my private pensions for annuities or drawdown. I already had a preference for drawdown and together with an overall view and plan of my financial future we moved my private pensions into a portfolio suitable for drawdown.

We had a number of small pension plans with different companies and wanted to get them all in one place and managed centrally.

Rakhee cast a professional's eye over my investments and not only gave me the reassurance I was after that I was financially on track, but also provided excellent advice on how to maximise my investments going forward - information I would never have known without her specialist knowledge and expertise. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I agreed to be Power of Attorney for my Uncle and Aunt which gave me authority to make decisions on their behalf for their finances, property and care. I also had my own company pensions that needed to be consolidated and make a good return.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee has helped me by advising on where best to invest my Uncle's money according to his risk profile. When my Aunt passed away she advised on inheritance planning and recommendations on where to invest money. My Uncle passed away recently and Rakhee has been pivotal in helping me to obtain probate and dealing with the release of my Uncle's investments. When the pandemic started in 2020 I lost my job and fortunately I was at an age where Rakhee could release some money from my company pension to enable me to live.

Rakhee has provided an excellent service. She is very conscientious and treats the money as if it were her own spending her valuable time getting every penny due to me. She continues to provide an excellent service to me even when one of the investment companies have stopped her fees and direct access to an investment after my Uncle passed away.

We hadn't got our money working for us, we had avoided it and kept putting it off. We are self employed and it all seemed more complicated and something 'we would get around to'. But not having it sorted was really weighing on my mind and causing me anxiety. I knew our money wasn't working for us, I knew we weren't prepared for the future, I knew there were better ways to manage our money and it was time to get it sorted out!

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee took the time to really listen to OUR goals, our plans, our concerns and so on to fully understand both our current financial situation but also what it is we wanted our future to look like. She showed us how we could use our money more effectively to not have to worry about retirement. If we hadn't done this we wouldn't be able to retire for a long time, but Rakhee showed us how small tweaks would make a big difference!

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Retirement from corporate career left me with a variety of pensions. I realised that a review was necessary to ensure that they gave me the optimum income for my retirement years.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee took details about the various pensions, and other financial savings pots (some tiny!!) and followed up with each provider to understand what the future potential / opportunity could be. She then took an overview and provided me with options to consider. She was hugely patient and helpful explaining things several times when required. Then she arranged the transition to a new pension pot giving me control of the funds and ensuring that my family will continue to benefit even when I am no longer here. The main original pension I had would have ceased paying after my and my spouses deaths so Rakhee has ensured that the capital remains available to our beneficiaries.

Yes, Rakhee has undertaken 6 monthly reviews with me to show the performance of the investments. She has made adjustments along the way, and even though my approach to risk is medium, the results are beating the market.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was looking for a new financial adviser as I didn't feel that my previous one was providing value for money.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee consolidated the various pension pots I'd accrued over the years with employers and suggested investment strategies in line with my attitude to risk.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

My investments have increased in value (always a good thing!) and I feel I have more control and understanding over them.

My relative for whom I have Power of Attorney had inherited some money and I needed advice on where best to invest it and also take into consideration inheritance planning for the future.

One of my relatives for whom I had Power of Attorney was suffering from dementia and unfortunately had to be admitted to a Care Home.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee helped by making me aware of a special product that could be purchased to cover the Care Home fees for the duration of my relatives stay in the Home. Rakhee also has helped me by transferring my pension portfolio taking into account the level of risk that I was comfortable with. Being made redundant at the start of lockdown Rakhee very quickly released some of my pension in the most tax efficient way.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Rakhee's advice has been invaluable. She gives advice on all options available and the pros and cons to each to help me make an informed decision. My pension has made good returns before and surprisingly also during Covid 19.

I had meet Rakhee at a BNI meeting of which I am a member and Rakhee became our IFA and during the ensuing meetings came to know Rakhee and how her business works, from the outside Rakhee was totally professional and displayed excellent customer care and I wanted to start regular contributions to my pension which was with one of our previous IFA's whom I was happy with

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Rakhee took time to do a financial review of my circumstances double checking life assurance, critical illness and income protection cover and done a comparison quote on my pension with current provider and going with Rakhee and Rakhee's quote gave better value not only over the medium term but also the more immediate future.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes is the short answer, up until the recent Covid 19 situation the funds had performed well and in fact had recovered virtually all the loses made in the first lockdown period within 3 months, I also took a break from the monthly contributions as I was unable to work due to the coronavirus and I fully intend to make up the lost payments hopefully by April 2021.

I had not long become a father, I needed to get my finances in order. Pensions, Insurances, protection, mortgages and future investments for my children. With so much to think about, and it not being my area of expertise, I needed some professional help.

How has Rakhee Wood helped you?

Until I met Rakhee my pensions were a mess, they were here, there and everywhere, with several pots of money unattended to from various jobs. I had literally no idea how much they came to and the combined pension they would give me in retirement. Rakhee consolidated my pensions, advised me on where I should invest and Rakhee managed the transition in a pain-free and jargon-free way and upon my recommendation she has subsequently worked with several of my close family, all whom like I have been delighted with her professionalism and support

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I can now easily look up my pension portfolio, neatly in one place, all the while enjoying lower overall charges. Hopefully I will never need to use the insurances and protection but I have peace of mind knowing that they're in place should the worst happen.
