What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I contacted Graeme to obtain advice & to facilitate a number of Pension drawdowns. My husband has be using Graeme’s services for over 7 years now & has always been extremely pleased with the service.

I am approaching 64 and have been contributing into a Private Pension since the age of 30.With a change in personal circumstances I felt it was time to take my Pension. Planning for retirement with a disparate range of investments in a number of different locations.

How has Graeme Mackay helped you?

Clarifying what investments I had already made and what I should do with them, arranging new ISA investment and taking care of the transfers as needed. He also gave my family inheritance tax guidance when needed, and also assisted in certifying some documents for me.

In terms of organising my investments and plans for moving and transferring them, I am happy with the outcome. Sadly market forces have not been kind during the period but we have adjusted for this.

I had a number of different types of Pension Plans and needed advice on how to consolidate them and make the best reasoned return possible for me.

As mentioned above, Graeme has helped me sort out the various pensions that I have and I now have a more orderly and confident approach to planning for my impending retirement. We regularly review how my Pension plan is performing and Graeme gives me advice on whether it should be moved to a more beneficial provider when the provider is not performing.

I had no idea about investing money, Graeme took the time to explain everything to me. To help me work what sort of investment I was looking for, he takes time to answer all my questions and makes sure I understand everything. He never tries to make me invest in things that are risky because he understands that having this investment for my daughters is very important to me. Graeme found us the right products for our insurance needs, which did have some specific requirements, and made the process very straightforward for us. It's a complicated market and it's something we didn't want to get wrong, and Graeme was great at walking us through it all.

I was looking for pensions advice in order to make some important decisions on my future, as well as investigating my current options.

How has Graeme Mackay helped you?

Graeme was really flexible on meeting options, particularly so as I work full time. He spent time going through my paperwork, drew up a suitability report and kept in regular contact with updates.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. I was pleasantly surprised at the positive outcome and have been able to utilise some of my released funds to great advantage, just when I needed it.
