I am approaching 64 and have been contributing into a Private Pension since the age of 30.With a change in personal circumstances I felt it was time to take my Pension. Planning for retirement with a disparate range of investments in a number of different locations.

Clarifying what investments I had already made and what I should do with them, arranging new ISA investment and taking care of the transfers as needed. He also gave my family inheritance tax guidance when needed, and also assisted in certifying some documents for me.

In terms of organising my investments and plans for moving and transferring them, I am happy with the outcome. Sadly market forces have not been kind during the period but we have adjusted for this.

I had a number of different types of Pension Plans and needed advice on how to consolidate them and make the best reasoned return possible for me.

As mentioned above, Graeme has helped me sort out the various pensions that I have and I now have a more orderly and confident approach to planning for my impending retirement. We regularly review how my Pension plan is performing and Graeme gives me advice on whether it should be moved to a more beneficial provider when the provider is not performing.

I was looking for pensions advice in order to make some important decisions on my future, as well as investigating my current options.

How has Graeme Mackay helped you?

Graeme was really flexible on meeting options, particularly so as I work full time. He spent time going through my paperwork, drew up a suitability report and kept in regular contact with updates.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. I was pleasantly surprised at the positive outcome and have been able to utilise some of my released funds to great advantage, just when I needed it.

What could they have done better?

Graeme has certainly met my expectations. I reviewed his profile and read other reviews which is why I chose him. Without the benefit of truthful reviews, people like me would go elsewhere.

Having never consulted an IFA before, I was a little uncertain about how I would feel. Graeme put me at ease; he quickly established my circumstances, explained (using little jargon) and reassured me that I was in a good financial position where my future is concerned. I am so glad I used the Martin Lewis site to find an independent IFA.! Graeme will be doing further work so I hope to be able to make more sound decisions and...relax!

Investigated my muddled financial situation and unraveled my pension provisions and put them into a semblance of order that they have not been in for many years.

I believe so based on recent reviews and updates.

I thought I knew a fair amount about personal finance, investment and retirement planning but needed to refresh my knowledge and this is where Graeme stepped in to fill the void. In my case there is little more that Graeme could have done for me or could have done differently as the advice given was tailored perfectly to my needs.

Closure of available service within banking environment. Ability of FA to access opportunities on a much greater sphere.

Graeme is very knowledgeable and was able to produce an investment portfolio that suited my needs and so far I am happy with choices made and returns from such. He is able to explain the 'Financial Sector' in terms the lay-man can understand with no pressure, only sound advice. Always prompt in any required response.

Investments to date have suited my current needs and outcome has been very satisfactory based on my investment choices.

What could they have done better?

So far has managed my requirement very well. With the fall in interest rates below the level of inflation I will be making further enquiries on how best to manage this. I am sure Graeme will put forward ideas next time we arrange to meet.
