My late wife and I were looking for advice after my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Minaz was a fantastic help and support.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My mother had a large IHT liability and I looked to Minaz to come up with a plan.

How has Minaz Kasmani helped you?

Following the latest guidance that pensions would also be liable for iHT in 2027. It was important that we developed a plan to ensure that my mum was financially stable but also that we look at ways at getting the money out of her state. Minaz came up with a comprehensive plan that ensures that my mum is financially secure and that we have mitigated IHT as much as possible over the next few years.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Very much so, it’s a comprehensive plan that the whole family are happy with.

What could they have done better?

Difficult to say, as the latest IHT guidance on pensions is so new, it’s very much uncharted territory. However Minaz completed comprehensive research to ensure that the plan complied with all regulations and me and my family are delighted with her proposal.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My wife and I enlisted the help of Towry some years ago to help us manage my late mother's estate to help finance her care home costs. The requirements were far too complex for us to manage ourselves and we therefore sought the experience and expertise which financial advisors have at their disposal to minimise depletion of her estate. As I had largely handled our "personal" finances myself, it became advantageous to us to put all our financial "ducks in row" and use the services of Minaz to continue to manage our joint affairs so that if we were to experience ill or declining good health our capital investments would remain in safe hands.
