We asked Steve for investment advice for my mother following Dad´s passing earlier this year. He couldn´t have done a better job. He went to see Mum at home to make it easier for her. Honest, wise and really helpful. He made everything very clear and very simple and allowed us to feel safe and confident of how to move forward. He followed up immediately with all the information we required. I would totally recommend Steve - super guy and brillant financial advisor.

Steve has always provided very good advice around my pension fund initially and has done this in a way of easy understanding. He explains things in depth but at the same time gives me total confidence in the advice. Steve advised on life insurance to help in inheritance tax, which is now in place. He also has provided a good platform for a large investment for me recently. We have had a few tax issues with HMRC, but Steve has always been on hand with his advice and quick response. I feel very much at ease in Steve’s company and he is a credit to Armstrong Watson.

After receiving an inheritance, I needed suitable advice to allow me to provide myself with an income which would, potentially, allow me to give up work and enjoy life.

How has Steve Shovlin helped you?

Steve reviewed my pension background as well as advising on investment options for my capital. This was based on an assessment of my levels of risk and, after discussions, I was able to make a suitable decision.

I have been in the process for less than a year and so cannot comment in detail. However, based on progress so far it would appear that the plan is on track.

To put my historical pensions in order to understand what I would retire with against my needs when retiring. Actions needed to meet that need.

Collated pervious pensions for possible consolidation, set a forecast plan for three retirement ages, and needs financially to meet such dates. Advised on active pension top up and managing.

Yes... it was a reality check and gave me the understanding on what I must do to achieve my retirement goals.

What could they have done better?

Having received the advisory package and not being ofay with pension plans and forecasting. I believe a closing meeting would have been very beneficial. Fortunately after prolonged reading I did get my head around the advice given, which did raise some minor question at the time.
