I am a Chartered Financial Planner based near Cockermouth and I primarily work with clients in Cumbria, but I do have a few clients further afield. As well as being a Chartered Financial Planner, I specialise in helping people pay for care and I am a member of the Society of Later Life Advisers which is the gold standard for advice relating to navigating the care system. I moved up to Cumbria a few years ago with my Wife and our dog Morris as we have always loved hiking and trail running. We have since worked our way through the Wainwrights and we are now getting into Fell running and are starting to pick up some of the local races. I offer holistic financial planning with a personal service and an ongoing relationship built on trust. All of the work I do with my clients starts with a simple question. What is the money for? I help my clients to identify what is really important to them, this could be spending time with family, spending more time in the fells, doing more volunteering or spending more time doing the thing they love. Once we know what the money is for, we will then design a plan to help you maximise the amount of time you can spend doing what matters to you. Investments, Pensions, Tax Planning and Inheritance tax planning are all important and need to be considered and managed, but they are tools to help us get you from where you are, to where you want to go, so they are only part of the plan. As I am an Independent Financial Planner I have no outside influences, which means that when I build you a plan, I will research the entire market and find you the products and investments which are the best in the market. Our meetings will always be focused on what you want to achieve out of your life and what really matters to you, as this informs everything else we do. Once the plan is set up, we will meet at least once a year to fully review your finances and make any changes that are needed to ensure that your plan stays on track.
